CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Ernie (Nathan Lane) shoots at the Mouse, but he hits the bug bomb instead.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Gore Verbinski, the TV-commercials director responsible for the Budweiser frogs, directed this Adam Rifkin screenplay about two brothers (Nathan Lane and Lee Evans) who inherit a string factory and a decaying country home after the death of their father (the late William Hickey, in his last role). After moving in, they learn that the house has historical architectural importance and is valued in the millions. However, they are constantly tormented by a mouse within the walls. They engage in cartoon-like combat against the rodent, but it manages to outwit the brothers in successive situations. Both live and animatronic mice portray the title role, and some scenes assume the mouse's point of view. The film is dedicated to William Hickey.

Yeah this is my second-favorite movie with Nathan Lane in it, The Lion King movies are my favorite because just like in this movie, ever since Lane voiced Timon in the first Lion King, he's used many famous Timon quotes and there have been some Lion King Easter eggs in many of the movies he's been in. For example here in this movie Ernie says Hakuna Matata and in the pound scene of this movie both voices of Timon and Pumbaa were together again. Ernie Sabella who voiced Pumbaa played Maury in the pound.

If anyone who remembers seeing this in theaters, can they remember the audience's reaction after Ernie said "see you in hell mouse" then the camera goes down to reveal the bug bomb? Just before Ernie pulled the trigger Gasp maybe? Or a "oohh!!" I can imagine the next second a huge laugh! but that precise moment when the bug bomb is shown.
