Wish I found this video earlier. Starting to run into problems with squeezing, since my first squeeze and want to get on top of it. Reverse packing is the main culprit I’m pretty sure as my relaxation feels great and even my coach said it looks great too. Anyways cheers for the helpful vid!

Hey, yes reverse packing is usually the reason for squeeze. But this video is not likely to help that in the long run. I do distance a mouthfill course that will help you to understand what is going on.

Thanks for another great video! Can you please make a video showing step-by-step how to do a mouthfill?
@freedivepassion94987 жыл бұрын
Sure, but how to do it is quite simple, developing the awareness to do it is another challenge all together, i recommend going over my dry training for EQ video and practising the exercises daily.

Thanks, I appreciate your answer! I also have a question: At, say, -20m, do I have to push my stomach muscles in order to do the mouthfill?

Nice video as always, may I make a question as well? I take my mothfill and I can manage it perfectly below 50m using frenzel, the thing is I don't put air in the cheeks at all, but my sinus and upper throat are properly full, is it so important to feel cheeks as well? Or am I going to need the air in the cheeks for deeper dives ?

You will need more air on deeper dives, it is a simple question of physics.

@@freedivepassion9498 No problem. I'd say that I really enjoy being around my cat and that I love her a lot, but i fear that would be teetering on the edge of a lie. My cat was born and raised in Malaysia, and though I was not with her during her early years, I am certain that the foothills in which she grew up on, were wrought with terror and sadness. As a result, young Fifi, my cat, has, on numerous occasions, attempted to dismember my lower body and feast upon the spoils. Yes, Fifi sure can be a bit, lets say, energetic, however I would be remiss if I did not mention the half dozen times in which she also let me feed her without attempting to remove any flesh from my arm. To say my heart is only filled with rage and hate against young Fifi would not be telling the whole truth. And so Mr. Passion, as you've read, the phrase "I love you more than my cat.

Nice video as usual, thanks. I have a question: I can easily take the mouthfil at 25m and even 30m. Once I took the mouthfil at 15m with empty lungs. So, I guess my problem is not taking the mouthfil. My problem is that I cannot equalize with the mouthfil. At first I thought that was because my cheeks were not strong enough to equalize, so I tried to use the mouthfil to equalize with frenzel. This worked for a while, but then I cannot equalize anymore even if my cheeks were still completely full. I guess that's a problem of soft palate, it is closed, I cannot open it, so I cannot equalize. What do you think about that ? Do you think I should just practice with exercices to acquire soft palate sensitivity or it is a more subtle problem ? Thank you in advance
@freedivepassion94987 жыл бұрын
For sure you need more sensitivity, once you have developed that you will know for sure exactly what you have done wrong. But if you re equalising and then can't, you probably haven't released whatever lock you use to frenzel. Check out this video its about just that and explains the problem clearly. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmHKnqioiLymprM

I used to have the same problem and found out that it was because the soft palate was up and I was unable to equalize because of that. The soft palate was up either because I unconsciously clenched it after a mouthfill or because I wore a mask with a too small nose pocket (as the air in the mask shrinks it can pull the soft palate up if the nose touches the bottom of the nose pocket). I had to do some specific exercises to consciously control the soft palate. If you cannot open it at depth even after those exercises your mask may be too small.

Hey Harry - would you recommend to try this on FRC too ?
@freedivepassion94984 жыл бұрын
No, take the charge on the surface with FRC. You reach your residual volume so quickly that you won't be able to fully charge below the water
