I took a big hit in a game and required me to get 16 stitches put in. A few days later for a pick up game I put my SISU mouth guard in and saw where my stitches and mouth guard were aligned. A ding showed where my teeth would have been possibly knocked out. It definitely provides sufficient protection and would highly recommend

Think you would find that Opro mouthguards when instructions are followed have great retention specially as you get higher up in the range. Specially as the one you show hasn’t even been moulded to fit as they look know where near as bulky. They make a instant custom fit that doesn’t need to be sent anywhere other than into the hot water and into your mouth that you then have to remove by hand as I can’t get it out using my tongue for for less than $70, Eats pretty much everything in the market.

do you recommend silver one for youth?

my old dentist, unfortunately he passed away, he did something like this. It wasn't absurdly priced but it wasn't as feature rich as these particularly with the compression pads. I've been watching your videos for about a week or so and im about to get back into the game after a 14 year sabbatical but ill be getting two of these mouth guards based on your recommendation. Thanks for the great content! looking forward to seeing the new stuff coming in throughout the year!

Great informative video for mouthguards that are now compulsory in university ice hockey.

$600 for a custom made mouthguard by the dentist is insane. I paid 150€ ($160, 125GBP) for my triple layer (harder protective material sandwiched between softer rubbery material in contact with teeth) custom made mouthguard. It's not super low profile due to its three layers, but it's also not bothering and feels less bulky than your typical boil and bite mouthguard. I never have the urge to remove it and even keep in in in the changing room until I'm in the shower and can rinse it there. Using it for kickboxing and other combat sports and wouldn't want to trade it for any other.

just go to your dentist and request a sports mouth guard. You wont get a better quality sports mouth guard out of any of these companies. (you can add up to 3 different layers ) most of these companies started as dental labs but they grow too big and they could not make one sports mouth guard for each athlete (plus they try to lower the cost so they cut the doctor as well ) so they had to make one fits all sports mouth guard since the doctor is not taking an upper and lower jaw impression to create sports mouth guard. At the end of the day a proper sports mouth guard will cost you less than losing your teeth Plus these sports mouth guards if the are over extending to your wisdom teeth you will have long term problems. Looking at the sport mouth guard you are showing its indeed a 2 layer splint but its the same material. its the most basic a lab makes and its not for sports that there is a chance to get a heavy hit for that you need a 3 layer splint at least

Alright got a question and I believe it valid. My son has been playing for 8 years and currently is in his first year on the high school team. I have always bought his sticks with his input on what he wants.. but the kicker is we have had two different curves… he has never tried the others because I can’t afford a stick in all the curves so he can find the correct one. So how do you accomplish that if you even can outside of being a pro or filthy rich?

go to your dentist ask for a sports mouth guard.

Go to a hockey store but a stick and if he doesn’t like the curve snap it in the 30 day warranty and get a different curve

This is probably a dumb question but do the true mouth gaurds work with braces

I've had TrueFit mouthguards for a while now and love them. At the time, they did not have the "hockey version" available on the website. So, they told me to just put in the comment for the order that I wanted the hockey version. They may have since added it. He is correct in saying it is comfortable and unintrusive.

I’ve found that the mouth guards made of fabric aren’t very durable. One has never lasted a whole season for me!

Google for Erkodent Playsafe Triple, go to your dentist with the info, and also ask your health insurance how much they would cover as profilactic measure (i.e. AOK pays around 100€ for a sports mouthguard). It's a three layer mouthguard that is better for combat sports like boxing than just a two layer mouthguard that is designed for sports where getting constantly punched in the mouth is not the main objective.

I'd recommend just wearing a cage or full bubble. Skip the mouth guard and save not only your teeth, but also your chin.

Mouthguard prevents concussions from your teeth clacking more than they protect your teeth themselves
@jbas8456 Жыл бұрын
@@TouchyFeeleyMike no they dont, Mouthgaurds do not prevent concussions, theres not a helmet or mouthgaurd in the world that will stop you from getting a concussion.
@AnHourOfWolves Жыл бұрын
@@TouchyFeeleyMike Unfortunately it appears that the research around concussion prevention by mouth guards does NOT show that it's effective. It was a theory that if someone's jaw gets hit from below that a mouth guard will prevent that impact from propagating up to the skull. In practice though, no reduction was found. Mouth guards are definitely there to prevent tooth loss for people who don't have their face covered by protective equipment.

The mouth guard with a cage or bubble is manly just so you don’t shatter your teeth
