@ I am currently in Southwest Arizona for the winter and I sold my Homestead in Springfield three years ago bittersweet but it was bigger than what I could handle But I’ve learned a lot so next time I know what has to be done so hopefully this spring I can find a smaller piece of property and keep it simple

My dogs eat squash & zucchini everyday. I chop & put in with their kibble/home cooked foods. We freeze. Will have to learn to freeze dry & can.

I was a little skeptical at 1st about the freeze dried foods but now that O have tried them they are one of my favorite go tos. I try to buy most of it when it is on sale because it can be a little pricey but all good is pretty pricey now a days. Healthy food anyway. Let me know if you give it a try. Awesome video. I tried getting Thrive in Canada a few years ago with no success. The cans are smaller which I really like when you don't have a big family. I'll have to look into it again. Slow and steady wins the race. ❤

I have heard of them having it available in Canada but I have not met anyone that has actually bought it. I like the smaller cans also. 😊 I have good luck with them so far. Yes it does. We always have something to do 🧡

Really like the freeze dried products! May try them. I had been pressure canning my soup mix/ starters/ meats. It's a trade off. One for the other. I am going to try your mouth wash!. It's not usual that you find anybody that eats a variety of veggies like you do! Take care ....Cheers! Enjoyed your videos!

I just got into freeze dried food a year or two ago. I have really been impressed with making meals from single ingredients. I am not a fan of a lot of the pre packaged meals. I would love to hear what you think if you try it.

Whoops I hit enter before I was done. 🤣🤣 I have a pressure canner and a water bath canning pot. I have canned some but I have a hard time finding somewhere to store all the jars since I live in a tiny camp. I do want to continue learning how to can more. @womanoffgridwithdog l live in a small house. 706 sq feet so space is difficult. It's only me though. I can pressure can what's in my freezer if the grid goes down for a couple weeks.

I really liked the freeze dried meal prep. I never thought of preparing full meals with them. I purchase Auguson Farms foods when they go on sale. I tried black bean burger and really loved it. I purchase a lot of their fruits. I also have some Thrive foods. Excellent video! ❤️

@ The black bean burger was on a Prime sale. I had someone order for me. Just add water and fry it up like a burger. Add onions and your favorite condiments. I just use ketchup. It was surprisingly good!

Thanks Carrie for the cool idea for the mouthwash, I always have to dilute the store kind , cuz it’s just too strong and overpowering( not to mention all the chems in it). Do you refrigerate it ? Have you ever tried to grow sprouts in a jar? Hippie Chick is a good one . Hey Tank 👋 he’s got that “big -dog” bark, great security for the camp. You’re welcome 😊 I don’t refrigerate mine but you could if you like it to be cold. I agree. Store bought is way too strong. I have not tried sprouts yet! I have seen a couple videos on it. I need to try it. Tank is a big boy. He is 120 lbs. I don’t think too much will come around while he is on watch duty. 🤣🤣 I am happy to hear that you are enjoying the channel!

I don’t have enough power capacity for a freeze dryer but I have seen videos of people using them. That would be awesome. I do not forage much yet. I need to learn more to make sure I am picking the correct things. Some things look very similar so I need a bit more confidence in that department. I love that you are in Maine also! Thank you 😊

When do you start your tomato seeds? You would not believe the beautiful tomato plants that came out of the compost pile\ from the 'backyard tomatoes' bought from our grocery store from the Madison, ME greenhouses. But, they didn't have enough time to ripen, only got a few ripe ones. That's what I hate about Maine, the short growing season. I use herbs, I have a bottle of cloves in oil for itching skin caused by some weeds around this place like the Virginia creeper vine. I visited the seed website, there are flowers I'll probably buy. I plant the sunflowers for the birds and bees.I love zinnias

Hi! I usually start my seeds at the beginning of April. I keep the starter trays on a shelf in my shower house and bring them out into the sun on the warmer days. That is too funny! The Fall before last I threw some small white pumpkins into the mulch under my bird feeders and they plants came up the filling summer. I got like 5 white pumpkins from it. 🤣🤣 Nature and plants are amazing. I wish Maine had a longer growing season also. I think this time of year they sell mostly flowers. I will keep an eye out for when they start selling their vege seeds again. Oh that is great! I will have to try that for rashes. Thank you! 😊❤️

@@womanoffgridwithdogReally takes some time shuffling the seedlings around, Mom used to do that from the Southside porch, into the house back out to the porch. The compost pile is warm, great place for growing. I'll never forget the first year I tried composting, and I freaked out when I saw steam coming out of the pile, I thought it was on fire~

@ I can see why that would freak you out. People don’t realize the heat it creates. I need to compost more here but it attracts some critters I would prefer to stay outside of my yard 🤣 I am constantly shuffling everything. 🤣🤣🧡🐾

@ We got maybe 3” but, we have propane being delivered this week and I need to make sure that the 1/2 mile road out of here is cleaned up.

@ That would be important. You want to be able to get that propane. We have about the same so far but it is still snowing. I think it supposed to be done around 11am.
