The Guards should not be put in the position of having to tell the carers/guides of someone who has special needs or has a disability to remain outside the box. It makes the Guards appear uncaring when in fact he has to take into consideration the safety of everyone and especially someone who is in a wheelchair. Some horses are more likely to bite than others and the Guard is the one who knows the nature of his horse best.

I’ve noticed that all the guards are amazing with people who have special needs. It’s lovely to witness them doing as much as possible to make the sensory experience extra special for these people. 😊

Think SAFETY no matter the condition of the tourists. Wheelchair, crutches etc. The rules are for everyone no exceptions. 😊 SAFETY FIRST.

The point I'm making is - see the person first and not their disability. The trooper done likewise and got right.

Hahaha! John. I love your sense of humor. Your voice and delivery reminds me a little like John Cleese/Faulty Towers-ish. Albeit MUCH younger. I watched your video about 4 months ago, A lone man was staring at a Life Guard horse, and then he looked and the trooper and sort of fell into a trance! I noticed right away that it seemed a bit more than curiosity. Then you said "wups..I think this man just fell in love with the trooper!" Hahaha! You took the words right out of my mouth! I wish I could remember which episode. You are brilliant!

Zorba i believe. John if Zorba had acted up like the horse the twin was on a couple of days the lady in the wheelchair would have been very vulnerable especially if she had been closer to the horse. The trooper was perfectly right to ask her carers to move her back, they were in the wrong to put her in that position in the first place

16:31 a trooper come out, I lost count how many times the trooper lead the horse into the yard, into the box, into yard, into box. The horses response was to pushed or pulled the trooper out of the box. This carried on until the change over. The horse was as good as gold once in the yard, for the guard dismount. Reminds me of the children song "Round and round the garden, like a Teddy 🧸 bear". In this case not a bear 🐻 the horse.

Whydo some tourists keep sticking their arms out towards the horse?. No touching rule. If they get bit its their fault.

@samjones95392 ай бұрын
I agree! Additionally many disabled people don't want to treated/singled out as different, though I'd also agree she didn't put herself there. For me the issue is that if the horse suddenly decided to move on out, as with small children, she would have been in danger of being unable to move quickly and this get hurt. Possibly the tour guide thought he was being kind but it was an unconsidered move!

As a wheelchair user I would prefer to be treated the same way as everybody else. In this case, the helper should have not put person in the wheelchair in that situation she couldn’t move herself. The trooper is in his full or right to tell them to move the wheelchair.
@Sandeeclaborn2 ай бұрын
John you asked what the troopers would do if and a a special needs individual crossed the line I think it would depend on the horses' temperament and demeanor and what is immediately happening at the time while keeping in mind the safety factors for all concerned. I have noticed that all the troopers are truly professional, exceptional horsemen and horsewomen.😊

Where do you find the numbers for the horses - on their hooves?
@kathellison80842 ай бұрын
The numbers on the hooves are their regimental numbers given when the horse has passed its training along with their regimental names . John with the help of his contacts in HCav has compiled his own list of numbers and names , they are not available to the public .

Why don’t the Troopers consistently close the back doors to the box? Some do, some don’t.
@msfrred1st2 ай бұрын
Depends on what is being done in the stables, guard room and other parts of the facility. It also depends on the mood that the horse was in before coming out. They may wait to ensure the horse is going to settle down after being stroppy in n the stables.
