How can anybody dislike this :-) KTF :-) For some it was their scene 40 years ago, and OK, they have moved on to other things (fair enough). Northern Soul was a scene like no other, and many people still enjoy it. The great thing is that (as this ad shows) there is a new generation out there eager for the music and enjoying doing the dances as the 70s generation did. Keep the torch burning :-)

@@gmlpc7132 Well,a case of Horses for courses,not being from the North,tastes can differ,for instance Mr Floods Party's their much later cover version of "Compared to What"for Me, is not in the same league as the 1969 issued,on a single, real jazz version by Eddie Harris &Les McCann,or the later version by Ray Charles,but to each His own? I have often differed in musical choices from others,such as long ago, [early 1963]the Song "Release Me," by ESTHER Phillips,issued on a superb soulful album, or Just One Look,[Hollies] preferred the much earlier version from DORIS TROY.Around the time Tainted Love was issued,what I actually bought [amongst others] was "Too Late Baby,too Late" by Arther Prysock,as a totally different,more sophisticated song lyrically than most!

Always enjoyed Motown music. Wish I was young enough to learn Northern Soul dancing. First I saw it was on John Newman's hit just a year or two ago and thought it was just great. Wonder if it is hard to learn?

I'm not a great dancer myself but if you have an ounce of soul within you , & the music moves you , you'll find your feet and learn it. Go to an all-nighter and get involved. You'll love it!

The very opposite to what we was about back in early 70s , yes I’m still around even now I’m well known but still prefer to be under the radar can’t say anymore as I would give myself away , I just replied with a great long explanation as to why not just me but many of us concluded what I said originally at the top , but I decided to delete it all as it’s better not to say to much a lesson I learned long ago , I would like to explain my views to you but not on a forum I’m sorry , this is a big problem on you tube and other forums There is no way I can think to contact message in private without the world knowing
