Dang! Tried this on the course today, and it worked as described. The test will be over time. I have tried lots of fixes that seem to help for a round or two, and then they become the flaw I'm compensating for. Today, though, I hit one baby draw after another with the driver. No slice! It almost brought me to tears. :) I'm 68 and a bogie golfer.

amazing, I've modified it a little and it's made a big big difference, more yardage and more consistent. I make two pratice swings where I start the club head in front of my right foot, one at slow speed and the second at normal speed. it must trigger something because I'm driving it further than ever. I've always been a straight ball hitter, maybe a little draw, very hard for me to fade or even slice. I can drwa my irons but not the driver. I'm comitted to your other videos for that.

Russell, a short time ago you posted a video of a drill that entailed flaring the lead foot and slightly turning the hips toward the target at setup. I can't find that video anywhere. I've seen just a few other videos suggesting this same thing. I took it to the range today and was blown away by how easy and accurate my swings and shots were. At 70 I wonder where this information has been all my life. It makes turning the shoulders to and fro, as well as the hips ultra easy. I am excited to take this to the course for my next round. I think others would appreciate seeing that video again. If you have time, please send me the link to that video so I can review it again. Many thanks.

Really like how you explain “straightening the trail arm” to shallow club. I tend to dip my trail shoulder (like a baseball player) and end up getting stuck on back foot.

I love your stuff and you have helped me over the years more than you could ever imagine...I love this drill and I used it on the course this past weekend and I hit 11 of 14 fairways...thank you!!! The only issue I have, WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, is doesn't this go a little against your " Moe Norman feeling of greatness" video...Honestly I'm sure it's me...can you just briefly explain where I am wrong...THANKS AS ALWAYS !!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

Video might better be entitled "How to hit up on the ball with a driver off the tee". Excellent explanation and long overdue for someone like me who has struggled with this.

I've started doing this and I feel like I'm heading in the right direction but i'm hitting quite a few thin shots now (with an iron). Be good to follow this up with likely faults that might occur when you follow the advice in this video and how you might correct them. I find new drills all the time that appear great but then a series of bad strikes and/or pulls, hooks, fats, thins, whatever "force" me back into old habits and a decent strike. Its hard to know when a drill is working and you need to stick at it or if the drill your'e doing is a dead end.

Are you having issues hitting long or scoring irons thin, or both?

should i tee the ball higher? it seams that if i do that the club will travel more upwards
@richardpeyser8552 Жыл бұрын
Russell, does this same technique apply to irons and woods where you are hitting more downward instead of upward? If you drop the club to the ground how do you hit down more?

I got the point you are making but could this arm move result in making early release (early uncock)?

How do you stop an alien invasion? Through a bunch of range balls on the ground to distract them. Did you see it? Amazing. Oh yeah, great video Rusty.

But the whole time the club is going down, your weight is still on your right foot a long time, in that drill. At least until you start to turn. That's sort of a contradiction to your other drills.
