Moved and Tuned Steinway D, then played Finale from Rach3

Here are some excerpts from my play-thru session of third movement of Rachmaninoff’s third piano concerto in d minor. NY Steinway 9’ concert grand. It sounds better in the lobby. I included a little commentary to make it more interesting.

You are doing great & sounds good 👍🏼. Tuned piano makes huge difference. Well Tuned piano motivates me to play the piano more. My baby grand needs tuning bad Lol. It is bad enough to make me feel sleepy 😂. So I have been playing on digital piano. I love your tuned Steinway piano sound. It is so clear and bright 🌞✨️!

I have even begun learning to tune notes on piano myself. it’s a valuable skill to have, even if you’re just able to touch up unisons

It was an unplanned, impromptu recording, and I had forgotten to pack my tripod 😭

thanks! it was the only spot I was able to prop my phone on. I didn’t bring my tripod because I wasn’t planning on recording , but when I found the piano in tune, I had to make the most of it because it tends not to last.

undoubtedly. I have to confess I still tend to learn notes first, then interpretation and music after, especially with this piece
