Thank you guys for sharing. I really enjoyed this however, please be careful of trying to separate us as Black people. As a Caribbean African, most of what we know today is due in a large part to social media. Let’s leave the past behind and try to move forward as Black people. We have to stand together as one be careful Don’t let your words separate us. This is what they are looking for,,separation.

I loved this video so much. I have sent it to all of my brothers, sons, auntie and Facebook. Truly this was good to see intelligent men speaking from the heart with respect and speaking from a place of experience. Your interviewing skills are top notch. I remember when you first started. Much love to all of you. I am an A.A. mother who is building a home in Ghana and trying desperately to influence as many of my family members as I can to go home to Africa. I hope they will use my home as a landing place. 🥰 My son needs to keep seeing positive black men he can relate to, so please keep up the good work. We need to instill confidence and pride in our youth and take the poison of the west out of them. The west has filled our black men with such insecurity that they over compensate in the worst ways.

Hayford…I’m very disappointed in you. You’re a professional and by now you should know that you check the mics before interviews. I turned it off because I couldn’t hear a thing about possibly an excellent discussion.

If viewers helped contribute sure Hayford would have excellent equipment. Ghana equipment isn't cheap and difficult to come by,....not like the West. This should encourage viewers to assist instead of criticism. His work has helped so many get so much value.. Maybe annoying when audio not clear but rather he upload poor quality than not at all. Equipment isn't cheap and has hitches

This is a great conversation but the religious segment is a little misplaced. Going to heaven is not based on any religion, instead, it is a belief, a trust in the Savior, Jesus Christ. God is Spirit, not white or black, and those who worship Him should worship in spirit and truth. 🙏

I disagree that we don’t know where we are from…. Many of us do take the DNA test available… The best one for finding your tribe is called African Ancestry…. It’s traces your maternal and paternal lineage… My test came back with many tribes from my Maternal line. I claim being Fula…Since they are nomadic….. I also got and Temne in Sierra Leone Kru in Liberia Mandinka… in Senegal … We are not a monolith. We are seen as a group but do our own individual thing. Also, slavery was a brutal and horrific experience for my ancestors. Sure we do still suffer from many maladies because of it.
@dadoboye1536
@dadoboye1536 24 күн бұрын
It’s best to see yourself West African rather than tribe or country. Many groups and tribes split up escaping slavery capture. Until all sub tribes in West Africa are tested and added to the DNA sampling, large tribes would dominate test results, which may be erroneous. Example being the presence of Nigeria in almost every DNA test. This is clearly population and group skew rather than saying of all groups in West Africa tested, your tribe or country is Nigeria.
@design401
@design401 23 күн бұрын
@@dadoboye1536 Not this test….They have a huge data base of African DNA and they can tell you exactly what present day people you belong to. It’s not the autosomal test… They test your mtDNA ….. which only comes from mothers . All of your maternal lineage back 500-2000 years ago. Many people know exactly where their ancestor that was brought over came from . I happen to match with people in 4 different countries…..

There have been Phrases to consciousness among Blacks in the west. Look at Black Americans of the 1960,70s then what YOU see now is due to social media WAS happening BEFORE social media then .. Do the research about the Black consciousness movement of the past. Remember Black Americans were greatly involved against Apartheid, war or conflicts in Africa there were NO social media then..

Its annoying the Africans knows their lineage But most DONOT valued it, and are CHOOSING not to follow their traditions, speaks their languages ect. EVERYTHING western appeal to them and mimick by them , which situation is MORE problematic generationally?

I can understand the need to pump yourlselves up, but some actual data would have been nicen in this discussion. 1. Poverty among African immigrants is higher than that of all Americans. 2. Also, African households with higher wealth is a result of several earners in the household. Black Americans tend not to live with extended family, and many families with kids are headed by single parents. 3. Black Americans don't lack confidence -- we know where we're from. We're Americans . 4. You cannot compare a whole population of people - the rich, poor, motivated, lazy, criminal, law-abiding, educated, uneducated, to a select motivated group of immigrants. The comparison should be to other immigrant populations such as the Asians, the Indians, immigrant whites, Hispanics. How do Africans measure up compared to them? Black Americans are not immigrants. 5. If you decide to compare Black Americans to Africans, the comparison should be to the motivated Black Americans. 6. At least 2 of the panelists are not exactly success. 1 has a history of being incarcerated, has a child out of wedlock and applied for welfare, and the other went to college on a athlete scholarship - which he lost. Scholarships are usually lost due to poor grades and/or failure to live up to the requirements of the scholarship. Why were none of these facts and issues addressed in the video??? This type of disingenuous reporting of Black Amerucans just helps to further solidify the wedge between Black Americans and Africans. Africans will present a false image of themselves and Black Americans to, I suppose make themselves feel better. We see it all the time. 🤷‍♀️

Great points. I'm a 2nd generation Ghanaian Canadian. Are my kids now Canadians? Yes, you may be an American but what's your heritage. Blacks are the only race that identify themselves based on their country of birth. I'm sure the Chinese and Indians who were born in the states still classify themselves as Chinese/Indians. American is not an ethnicity, it's only for one who resides.

@ronalddumfeh6920 When we see a Black American, don't we already know their ancestors were from Africa? Yes. When we see white Americans, don't we already know their ancestors are from Europe. My ancestors were part of the enslaved in America. My ancestry in the US likely goes back much further than the average white American you see, yet rarely do they refer to themselves as European American. I am Black American.

@@ronalddumfeh6920We are definitely an Ethnicity in the Modern Sense. Nigeria as a Country is only 70 years old where the United States is 300 years old. Benin Empire, Dahomey, Oyo were also New Kingdoms that came to an end but they had their Ethnic foundations that would change and morph into something Modern like being Nigerian of Today. The Inventions and culture that Black America is responsible for went all over the World. Afrobeat, Afrobeats, HipLife, and all music Genres stems from Black American Gospel and R&B
