So tired of remakes and sequels. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe perfected their characters.

I love Jack Quaid. But his character that's just a remake of kick-ass, no?

Found the part where you guys claimed Kraven the Hunter to be the best comic book movie you've ever seen kinda weird. But hey, everyone has their own taste I guess.

“Money talks” That’s my exact issue with the MCU now. I could sit here and say oh cool they got RDJ back because of my nostalgia but they just do this for money. They don’t care about telling a good well crafted story anymore. Everything going forward just seems to be nostalgia bait or “who’s the biggest actor to play this superhero” it’s lame. Take me back to before Endgame where they built a genuinely well crafted narrative with memorable moments and villains. They have so much they could do, so much potential with the MCU and instead they just choose to be a money hungry slop machine

They still definitely have well crafted moments, narratives, and villains. Black panther 2 and Namor. Loki and Kang. Shang chi and the Manderin. Guardians of the galaxy and the High evolutionary. Etc. Also they’ve been a lot more original and experimental than ever, especially comparing to pre endgame. Stuff like Wandavision, Eternals, Werewolf by night, Multiverse of Madness. I’m not gonna get hung up on a Doom casting that’s only gonna last 2 films. Especially not knowing the story, but bringing back the writer who wrote the Cap and Avengers movies gives me some hope for those films. Not to mention we’ll be done with all the multiverse stuff once these next 2 Avengers movies are done, even though there hasn’t been much multiverse stuff at all, other than Loki, Doctor Strange, and Deadpool.

To do American Psycho in present day is to miss the point of the novel--which is about '80s excess. Will not be seeing--don't care

While I agree with you guys, for the most part, about the Globes, just because a majority of the American movie-going audience have not seen a movie does not mean it is not great. Access is not the same quality. Good quality movies struggle to find audiences for a myriad of reasons (lack of promotion, poor distribution, subject matter etc.). Marianne Jean-Baptiste delivered, arguably, one of the greatest performances of the year and even in the last couple of years and she was not nominated. Does that mean the perfomance is bad? No.

Sorry jot at all our point, we’re just saying that institutions often ignore great popular films like Nosferatu and Dune because they aren’t deemed “artistic” enough
@goncalopatricio400
@goncalopatricio400 Ай бұрын
@@raidersofthelostpodcast_ Well Nosferatu unfortunately was always going to get ignored because they just don't like or touch horror (with very very few exceptions).. Dune Part 2 is just suffering from a very early release.. Dune dominated when it came out and Dune Part 2 , even though it is arguably better than the first, is not going to have the same success because of it's release date and because it isn't "fresh" in people's mind as Dune was.. Unfortunately I am also not that confident in Challengers as it hasn't been getting a lot of nominations during this awards season..
