5:10 the man in the middle is the Real Marcus Lutrell , the Lone Survivor , you’ll see him through the movie. He would make the movie if he was the military advisor that would be making sure it was done as accurate as possible to honor his brothers that died. There’s some amazing videos on KZbin of him speaking after recovering to media, college graduations , etc where he goes into his actual injuries and he was MUCH worse off than the movie portrayed, be broke his back , his femur , was temporarily parylized from the waist down , his nose was crushed concave into his face , be bit a large portion of his tongue off swallowing it and nearly choking to death on his own severed tongue. For anyone who thinks he’s boasting by making this movie , watch his media interviews after recovery , it’s heart breaking , he truly believs and says because he in the very end quit fighting to hide to survive he believed he was a coward. The psychiatrist tv host tried to explain to him how false that is but you can see he believs it & argued with him , his survivors guilt is unreal , he feels responsible for the largest loss of Special Operations war fighters in US History when the Chinook helicopter was shot down killing all on board and holds that guilt becasue they were comming to save him. He did say one inaccuracy he was upset about is how they portrayed him being seperated from Danny when he died , he said he was there and witnessed the killing of every teamate. He also said the rescue was different & the 160th SOAR pilot that had to put one wheel of the helicopter down on the edge of a cliff the village was actually on doing it in a dust out , an impossible feat hovering off a cliff with just the left wheel on the cliffs edge under fire while Air Force PJs jumped out retrieved him and got him on the helicopter with the rotor blades less than 2 feet from the structure he was in . The pilot said in the dust out he literally could not see ANYTHING while hovering except a hanging plant on the structures wall that he focused on to keep from crashing into the home. Records show Marcus died 3 times during the medivac flight & at the trauma hospital. I’ll also note because commentors always throw out the false info that the Afghan that saved him reportedly said the movie was all false and that the Taliban fighters weren’t in the hundreds but just a few and the amount the SEALs killed he said was so wrong”. But what these commentors and the media don’t know or look into , that Marcus , the US SOCOM , and evidence debunk the claim and explain why the Afghan said those things. Marcus explained they flew him to the premier of the movie & he was close to him , at the premier you can watch him tell the media the movie was acurate , he loved it & was greatful to be in America , something Marcus arranged. What happened is after the premier Marcus had to get back to life , his family , Texas , and was still dealing with his trauma emotionally PTSD , physical etc & the Afghan later in anger told the media after the premier he felt abandoned & Marcus left and stopped calling which made him upset. He ended up deciding to go back to Afghanistan for a trip and possibly to stay and both he and Marcus have said of course the Taliban & Afghans hated the movie saying it made them look weak. They also saw the afghans interviews where he said he loved it and it was accurate so his people were angry with him and the Taliban was actually out to kill him . He is nephew was actually killed by Taliban accidentally when they were shooting at him. He then publicly (to save his own life and his families lied to the media and Taliban stating the movie was all lies , that a small handful of Taliban killed the Navy SEALs , he said he was abandoned at the premier and Marcus disappeared etc.doing this saved his life and stopped the persecution he was getting & Marcus says he doesn’t blame him a bit . The Afgan is back in America now. Drone images & military battle assessments factually debunk the lies that it was a handful with confirmed images of at least 130 Taliban & the US PJs that searched for the SEALs bodies and gear confirmed a massive amount of dead Taliban accross their battlefield. I forget the number but it was wild how many these 4 SEALs took out. Marcus was really hurt and upset about the medias spreading of false info becasue he said it taints the memory of the US warriors that died & implies they were poor war fighters & upset saying this wildfire of false information from an Afghan that was being hunted by the Taliban and had to lie to save his life and his families and “the real #’s “ the Taliban, a terror organsiation put into the media was being ate up by media , ignoring the Lone survivors account , military date etc , believing the terror organsiations data thst are the same ones still hunting afgans friendly to the US & completly opressing & punishing women and female children today. He said liberal media, anti war, anti military leftists have pushed this claim the whole movie was a lie , accross the planet & people just buy into it becasue they heard somewhere this false info. Marcus admitted he went MIA from the Afghan & appologised & felt bad about it but also said his own mental well being needed to not be reminded of the horrific events that had ALL of his teamates killed. I just wanted to post this so those reading comments or KZbin videos out by woke youtbers calling the movie a sham , so hopefully anyone seeing that will consider the sources and facts before spitting on the aciunt of these warriors heroic fight. All casued becasue they chose to release the goat herders , doing what peacemakers would say was right .

Watch Marcus’ live prevention on this incident. It’s on the KZbin platform. Far more intense than film could portray, including his injuries he survived. All hail the Sheepdogs. 🫡 “13 Hours; The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi “ Is an important film to watch and understand the truth behind.

@kellyzeh4249 Enduring Freedom was from 2001-2014. The Battle of Mogadishu was in 3-4 Oct 93 during Operation Gothic Serpent. I think 18 or 19 soldiers were killed in the Battle of Mogadishu but if I recall the casualties in Operation Red Wing was the highest at the time for Navy Seals/Special Warfare and at the time the highest in a day.

Some other great True type or True story movie are, Saving Private Ryan, 13 hours, American Sniper, hamburger Hill, Dunkirk, 1917, big Red one, thin Red line, Hacksaw Ridge, once we were soldiers, Blackhawk Down. This director was a pretty good actor but has a real knack at directing true story movies. This Deep water survival and The Perfect Storm! He is now in Congress!😮. SOAR chopper pilots....truly as good as it gets. They are asked to do the impossible, as routine. I was in 1st Ranger Battalion. Typically we are backup for any missions involving seals, Delta, SF, things like that.

One of the best war movie for sure. Extremely intense, well produced, well filmed and well acted by the actors. Indeed, as some have suggested in other comments, it would be cool to give a reaction to the most intense and also realistic film (also based on a true story) released well before "Lone Survivor": it's the "Black Hawk Down" movie. After in you can make in same register yes they have "Saving Private Ryan" but if you want but in my opinion (and some will surely agree) there is a film from the same year (1998) which is a masterpiece of philosophical reflection on war, nature, connections, etc. = on human nature (with duality or the association of life drives and death drives) and nature in general. It's "The Thin Red Line" movie. Otherwise a few small anecdotes, in addition to the real Marcus Luttrell who we see in the movie Lone Survivor, he explains for example in his book (of the same name) that when Murphy died the latter asked for his help after having sacrificed himself in making the call but Marcus explains that he couldn't move otherwise he would have been killed. So he heard Murphy (who was his best friend by the way) calling him and then dying without being able to do anything. This will create a terrible feeling of guilt in Marcus. He explains it perfectly in his book by calling himself a "coward" even though he knew that if he was going to help her he would be killed. We also learn in the book that Danny died of a bullet in the head when he was transporting him following his terrible wound behind his leg in the film apparently, and that Danny therefore died in a way "in his arms" according to Marcus. Another notable fact: Marcus and Ax never knew if Murphy's call actually worked. Marcus will learn this later. And as for Ax, so he had a serious head injury and couldn't really move and such. Marcus thought Ax was dying at this point before an RPG shot propelled Marcus further and separated them. Same, it is only later with the finding of Ax's body far from where Marcus remembered having left it as well as through the autopsy that we learn that Ax was not yet dying contrary to what people thought. Marcus and that he knew how to get up to resist for a while longer and try to fight until the end. There would be plenty of things to mention between the terrifying autopsy of Danny's body with 3 bullets in the head and as many in the shot if I'm not mistaken. The fact that when they were dropped off by helicopter for the mission, the rope had not been raised which meant that they had to hide it and that in between, the noises of the helicopters (even if they had made lots of false tracks with the helicopters) as well as with the terrible rain they encountered during their walk at night that left quite a few footprints as well. In short, apart from the shepherds whom they unfortunately came across, the Taliban apparently knew that there was a unit in the area and they were already looking for them. And finally the end of the film rather fanciful compared to reality because Marcus was kept for several days with long negotiations with the Taliban to gain time (so it was not done like in the film, and the very touching story with the little boy in the film never existed, it is a pure invention). Here are important things to know. There are others but I think the film and those cited give a serious summary of what you need to know overall. Maybe one more thing: they didn't feel this mission at all from the start because there weren't enough corners to hide/stay discreet, not to mention the transmission problems. Of course, many wonder why they didn't take other additional equipment (another radio, a heavier weapon if necessary, tactical vests with bullet plates instead of the Chest Rig). You should know that it was a reconnaissance mission and that with the march they could not transport as much equipment. PS: Sorry for my very average English, I am French 😉 And yes you're a beautiful girl but this is not what should generate your success and the views of your videos. It is the quality of the authenticity of your reactions that must generate success.

4 Navy Seals getting their asses kicked the entire time still managed to take out 35 Taliban soldiers in this fight your watching. He knew better than to go up against two Apache Warbird helicopters and an ac130 gunship puff the magic dragon that's why the Taliban bugged out when the warbirds finally showed up. Then at the end of the movie when they were extracting Marcus that ac130 gunship was straffing that mountain for 3 hours straight before the black hawk came in with the Army Rangers to pull Marcus out. We lit his ass up that morning

Every other girl most of the time just says “poor old man, poor kids, let em go.” I actually would’ve wanted to do what you said. Tie em up, tie their mouths closed, and let em wobble down. They’d have to be careful. Plus if you tie the goats up, if there are wolves, they’d probably go after the goats. Still hard to say not being there, but I agree with you.

This war changed how we fight wars, dramatically. The technology we have today is far more advanced than what the SEALS carried 20 years ago when this fight took place. If this same thing happened today, those 4 guys would have killed all of the enemy on that hill before they even got close enough to the SEALS to visually see them. This is among the most accurate war films of all time. Navy SEALS were on the set while filming to make sure it was accurate. Some of the actors in this movie are actually SEALS. 99% of action war movies are not even close to being this realistic.

Oh man, Marcus Lutrell and the Lone Survivor story is a rabbit hole. If anyone is interested in a deep dive into a nightmare of incompetence and cover-up, I recommend a writer by the name of Ed Darack, who wrote the book Victory Point. In summary, he rode with the guys who did the mop-up after Red Wings went pear-shaped. He was one of the first to really speak out on a national level that Marcus was full of sht. A good interview can be found where he talks about Red Wings and Extortion 17, the helicopter crash that killed a good chunk of Seal Team Six. The big points he made: that massive ambush of hundreds of Taliban was probably a few dudes, maybe 7, points out that their command made critical, baffling mistakes, like flying a MH-47, a massive, loud ass helicopter, into a valley where the enemy was dug in and expect not to be noticed, not really making a plan, and more. Then there was the incident of not shooting the civilians, which was a whole different can of worms that led to a lot of questions about the truth of what happened. He also dug into the fact that many of these books by Seals, especially Lone Survivor, were ghost-written. In summary, the SEALs talked to the authors, gave basic details, and to a disturbing degree, make shit up or puff up their patriotism and their life stories. From the same website as the interview, and with contributions by Darack, is a great article I definitely recommend if you want to know the other side of Lone Survivor. Tl;dr, Lutrrell remarkably survived a nightmare scenario, but the entire operation was a bad idea, it didn't work, and the Navy and SOCOM used him as a prop for a heroic tale in order to cover up they effed up super bad.

Love the reaction and if you haven’t watched it… WE WERE SOLDIERS IS A GREAT MOVIE ALSO. hope all is well 🤝🫵💯 Also something I thought you might find crazy// with how many make it. I think out of around 210 guys in Marcus’s class… i believe only like 12-15 made it
