I'm with you S C, this movie came out when I was 11 years old. I now get all of the jokes I didn't get like Freddie "out in some guys' van" or the parents reaction to "your kids touched me and I'm pretty sure i touched them"... definitely terrifying in a non comedy context

I am surprised no one mentioned that actually KIDS were ones who were singing and played the music instruments.... The kids played instruments for real. They even had reunion recently, sadly only kid that was drummer died on motorcycle accident...

Still amazes me to this day that when this movie got out Ned's girlfriend got more hate then Jack's character that committed a crime by taking someone's job (which also makes him a pathetic friend) and was also mooching off his friend🙄

I think people would hate her more if her character was better written. It came off like she was bossing him around rather than having genuine conversations with him.

@@bensenzo Ned. She seemed to be lecturing Ned and demanding he do things rather than talking to him-especially considering that she's supposed to be his girlfriend. And Ned himself flat out told Jack Black's character that he really wanted rent purely because he's scared he might never find another girlfriend. Not because he's genuinely happy. But because he doesn't want to be lonely and doesn't think another woman would date him.
