Fantastic scene! I personally love Argento's work and find it hard to believe that others find it difficult to comprehend. He is truly a wonderful director of our time. A great director!

This movie plays like an episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" Just because it's supposed to be scary doesn't mean it is.

The most horrifying thing about this is the SOUNDTRACK.

I'd watched a lot of horror movies before I finally saw Suspiria - but nothing can prepare you for the assault on the senses this movie throws at you. It so perfectly embodies that feeling of a horrifying, yet at the same time, absolutely intriguing nightmare that you just can't wake up from. It is so relentless at times in it's application of fear but at the same time you know you have to push on to see what happens next. Fantastic work from Argento, and there's really nothing else like it.

my scene is when Pat is being stabbed in the heart and then crashes the glass... oniric. I don't know why, the light trough the glass... orange and yellow, the way she falls... the blood, damn, a lot of great scenes... this up there is awesome too...

This has become my favorite horror film, so very good. This kind of scene, and the music, is why, not so much the gore or violence.

if you haven't seen it, that little kid in the 19th century clothing does nothing the whole film but stand there and look spooky. And no one asks or mentions why he's dressed 100 years out of date.

@luvulngtime2 Your exactly right remakes focus on the money they pay for visuals whereas classics focus on talent. You had to have it back then to make these films. Oh and trust me the makeup artist are all college degreed in theater makeup. Back then you had specialist hired to do fims not just people off the street, not saying that talent cant be found but it takes a creative visualist to spot that out.

@DandAinTac "Repulsion" is good, but i prefer psychological horror to lots of blood and gore. "Onibaba" has a little bit of both, that's a good one, like a twisted folk tale. "Vengeance is Mine," not exactly a horror movie, more a character study of a murderous sociopath, much like "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer," but Japanese. Even things like "I Spit On Your Grave," (the 70's version) and the 70's version of "Last House on the Left," I found more effective and frightening than Suspiria

@DandAinTac Witches aren't generally known for being slashers like, Jason. More or less they kill by inflicting curses summoning devils. You know; basic witch shit.

Another thing that makes these movies so real is the grooming. Grooming can put something that is thought to be past contemporary. It is very important to exclude unnecessary embelishments of body and face when you are trying to focus on a specific point in this case FEAR. The witches employ you to fear with awe considering there motive for evil is wealth but they turn into crude worshipers implicating there denial of self in the eyes of the devil to get what he has promised.

I was interested at first. But it's just some chick walking in a corridor and piece of metal/knife/whatever yells at her. : |

There’s more to that. She knows too much and the maid and 19th century boy cast a spell upon her, making her sick. I think the piece of metal is a cake scoop.
