In Ricky's perspective, you don't need to have a high school diploma or a college degree to have great jobs, but you gotta educate yourself and be mindful to what's happening in our society.

@LoyalT1987 that depends on your depth as a person. I see some people use their Buiness Degrees to an extent some Engineering students can't fathom and vice-versa. But for me valuing educations is amazing and fruitful

Reminds me of a Louis CK joke. People that don't go to college have more life experience and end up being wiser than a college graduate because they're only knowledgeable in the thing they majored in.

@@TheSlammurai That's a very narcissistic viewpoint. Life doesn't stop just because you're in school, many people struggle with life while getting their degree. People who think they're "wiser" than college grads have inferiority complexes.

I love this scene. Jimmy always thought everyone was trying to come for him because he was going to Northwestern, like he was a sellout. Nah. They came for him because he bought into his own hype too much. He wasn’t just a smart dude, he was arrogant about it and lorded it over their heads. Thought he was too smart for everyone in a humble South Side barbershop. He needed that schooling, from Ricky and later from Isaac.

I'm not really all for reparations. It's a slap-in-the-face to successful Black people today. Like he said, restraint teaching people that no one owes them anything and you get what you work for.We can accomplish anything we put our mind too. I could be wrong but that's just me.

College education isn’t everything, not ignorant in my eyes. The school system is horrible
@teayabrown3924

It's not racist for a company to want one. However, having a college education doesn't matter much. If someone has more experience, an employer is most likely to chose that person. But, we also have think about what time this move is set in. It was a time when black people could rarely get college educations and racism was still high. If he did have a college education, he still probably wouldn't be picked for the job over someone who went to a more distinguished school where black people couldn't go. However, I'm not saying this is an excuse to want a hand out like he wanted. Many black men and women have jumped over extreme hurdles to better their lives. The difference is, they never turned back no matter how daunting the road.

Tbh I think it was showing how ignorant some black cats are that's not on they feet. Useing the white man for the reason for not getting jobs insted of learning a skill and working hard. My uncle did that alot until he started finding jobs driving and delivering (which he is good at)

@@artkid9279 that's because it much easier for them to blame someone else for their failures then trying to improve their lives. Blaming white people for everything is their crutch.
