CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) prepares for the fight with a series of rough and tough training methods, including the classic punching meat.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Sylvester Stallone returns to the director's chair for Rocky Balboa, the fifth sequel to the film that made him a superstar 30 years before. The movie begins with Rocky (Stallone) still mourning the death of his loyal and beloved wife, Adrian, who died three years previously after losing a battle against cancer. Rocky owns an Italian restaurant and spends his days living in his working-class Philadelphia neighborhood, visiting with his customers, and telling stories about his past. His grown son has a job as a business professional, but the relationship between the two is strained. Rocky's growing dissatisfaction leads him to attempt to purge the feelings of frustration and loss by applying for a boxing license. When the current heavyweight champion, Mason "The Line" Dixon (Antonio Tarver), needs to rehabilitate his image as a pretty boy who has never shown any real heart in the ring, his manager offers Rocky an exhibition match. This comeback allows Rocky to get his own life back on track, while also offering him the opportunity to help those around him redeem themselves and once again be a symbol of hope for the common man.

One of the best things about Rocky Balboa movie is that his opponent Mason Dixon is not ment to be the villan of the movie, he is just his own man that has nothing evil in his mind. I love the fact that the writers didn't lose the focus of the movie by constructing a true villan profile on Mason character rather they focused on Rocky's inside world his emotional problems about loneliness. That is why the movie is so sweet and heart breaking...

Not bad for a 59 year old dude, one for whom the term quit, along with the phrase submit to the passage of time, do not alter or deter his single minded focus, nearly supernatural determination and seemingly divinely ordained Greatness. Stallone IS A ONE MAN JUGGERNAUT, this perennial and magnificent powerhouse, and this formidably unrelenting Italian tank (metaphorically and symbolically speaking, not that that had to be typed) smashing into his most feared and fearsome competition with this zealously inspired fire and determination, while the vitality, authenticity, heart, passion and love that he pours into his finest cinematic creation and most sacred manifestation---Rocky Balboa---is sublimely and thoroughly commendable. Stallone is THE MAN!! ONE OF A KIND!! One of the GREATEST AND MOST ADMIRED entertainers in modern American history, if the dude ran for President he would prove this worthy and respected candidate, and he would do very well! Keep it coming man, keep it coming!!

+Dr. Banner's. I think some of dialogue in Creed gave the impression that he was gone. They didn't say it explicitly, but I remember getting that hint. I really liked Rocky Balboa and Creed. The original is my all time favorite movie. I realized in Creed that he came up alone as an orphan and his life gradually drifts that way again. Deep.

Fun fact: the part where Rocky runs up the steps in this one, is the final clip they filmed in production. They had already filmed the fight, and other scenes and they wanted to save this one for last because of how emotional it was as its final moment. Assuming Creed wasn’t going to happen.

In Duke's talk to Rocky before the start of the training montage, Rocky was told that hard running was out. Thus the all-out sprints seen in the first four films (especially in "Rocky" in front of the docked ship and on the Ben Franklin Parkway in "Rocky II") were out of the question. Thus the running was at a slower pace and mostly on grass (as depicted with Rocky running through the University of Pennsylvania campus area near the baseball and softball fields).

I’m from Mexico, as many should know, box is an extremely popular sport in my country, some of our greatest fighters came from a borough in Mexico City named Tepito. My dad was rised in Tepito and my grandpa tried to be a boxer but he failed, any way, my dad once told me that when the first Rocky movie was released people from Tepito including him, went to the local theatres of the borough and on the training and fighting scenes the people cheered and yelled like if they were on a real arena, and when the other sequels were released, in Tepito were like huge events. But unfortunately the borough in the 90s and 2000s became very dengerous and the theatres were demolished, so when Rocky Balboa was released it did not receive the huge audiences it had with the other films.

It kinda pissed me off when I heard that he was removed from The Contenders because he wasn't a real boxer. While I can kinda see their point, I think he legit trained harder than any boxer fighting today.

Yeah. You should look up his training he did for Rocky 3&4. Man was and still is an animal for his age. And the fact he created of the most inspirational film series and motivated countless fans to persue your dreams is an achievement.

There is supposedly a "Rocky VI" (with Rocky continuing as a trainer) in the works, plus Stallone portrayed Rocky in the first two "Creed" movies.

I'm curious, if he did the training he did in Rocky IV, in Russia, in that climate, in this movie. Would he survive it and made him as strong as he was when he fought Drago?
@WarbossR0kt00fSant0s
@WarbossR0kt00fSant0s 4 жыл бұрын
Not likely. He was aging, so he wasn't the same as he was before. Plus, he has additional health problems that come with the middle age crisis, so the training earned from Russia was deteriorating.
