FILM DESCRIPTION:
We all have a superhero inside of us -- it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In 14-year-old Billy Batson's case, all he needs to do is shout out one word to transform into the adult superhero Shazam. Still a kid at heart, Shazam revels in the new version of himself by doing what any other teen would do -- have fun while testing out his newfound powers. But he'll need to master them quickly before the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana can get his hands on Shazam's magical abilities.

Except Zachary Levi. The kid was perfect. He just played a random kid. He should have played Billy differently. Like how Asher Angel played the street smart kid, imagine what would happen if a kid who was forced to naturally be mature above his age actually gets a chance to be an adult. Zack should have just played a tween/ 20-21 year old adult whose genuine kiddishness creeps through at weird, unpredictable moments. Asher Angel played the role really well.

I love how unique and well- defined each of the Seven are, and how their appearances and powers are closely tied into their respective sins. For instance, Greed has four arms, the better for grabbing and taking more and more. Sloth is able to use its vines/ tentacles to entangle targets and keep them from moving or doing anything (Which, in turn, makes it all the more fitting that the hero who mainly fights against him is Mary, who has as a core part of her personality how hard she works and pushes to achieve her dreams). Pride is the only one who can fly, thus having something to brag about over all the others, and so on. Well done.

0:23 is why I love scenes in superhero movies where the young hero or side character finally gets to actually use their powers for the first time in a real fight without much experience. It shows how cocky the character is when it comes to dire and life-threatening scenarios like this. The Way how he just thinks that he can easily beat pride based on the amount of superhero comics and movies he's read and watched is Hilarious! But, Little does he know pride is a HIGHLY dangerous opponent and as soon as he unleashes his claws, this version of shazam(Forgot his name) is taken a back. Shazam and The Batman are amazing movies and as a marvel fan I see a bright and vibrant future for DC movies and I hope Zack Snyder learns how to make a good and accurate comic book movie based off of a superhero story.
