Their chemistry is fantastic. Ryan O’Neal’s subtle acting conveys that he is drawn to her, but is in denial. And even though Barbra Streisand’s character is very forward in her pursuit of him, she conveys such warmth, devotion, and genuine love in all their scenes that it’s never uncomfortable to watch. She proves that she genuinely wants to help him the whole time, and he becomes less stiff and more relaxed throughout the film as she breaks down his walls and captures his heart. This movie isn’t just the funniest of all time, it’s also one of the most romantic.

There's something about Streisand. She had a magnetism about her. Irresistible.

You can still see the marks left on the floor from Eunice's heels when she was dragged away.

"Must you stand quite so close?" Howard must've had some kind of love magnet that was making him so attractive to Judy.

I think it’s the fact that he’s both like her and not like her. His life is stable, he’s quiet and collected, whereas her life is wild and uncontrolled. I think part of her desires the kind of stability that he offers. But they also are both very smart and she understands his interest in geology far better than most people would, to the point where she can speak the language and keep up with him. Eunice couldn’t do that. Judy saw that, between their similarities and differences, she and Howard made a perfect match. And eventually Howard sees this too, because she brings some excitement and adventure into his life which he was previously lacking, whereas he tames her fire at the right moments. They balance each other out.

@@12classics39 Apart from the fact that he was already engaged to Eunice, Howard was trying to avoid Judy because she was different, like he told her on her way out the door.

@@waynemacfarland1546 yes, her being “different” is what actually makes her appealing to him, but he’s in denial about it at this point.

Just the voice of Barbara, sound music to my ear. O'Neal voice is not bad too. It's a very lively and interesting movie. Sometimes i played the movie and sleeping by listening to it.

Well usually when you say you sleep to a movie it means it's boring, but I get your point here
