Diet has certainly improved a lot in 40 years lol. Good lord! Joe Frazier said a few years before he died that training, technique and diet had improved so much that you can't compare modern to old boxers, because "since I started boxing we went to the Moon". Point being that we're much better at those things now. A lot of the old-school guys in many sports, not just boxing, have said the same thing. Arnold says bodybuilding is way better on your joints now and he trains differently today, MMA fighters say their sport has advanced unbelievably in 25 years etc. Hell, even the science of 'heart' or willpower has improved i.e. what is the best way to develop more heart. Incredible, really, we should be proud of how far we've come.

This scene was actually inspired by Stallone's real life experience. He worked out all his life but knew zilch about real, hard core training. They tried to film the big fight with Apollo early in the schedule to get the hardest part out of the way-but Carl Weathers was such an incredible athlete that he threw Stallone around like a sack of dirt. So Sly decided to change the schedule and spent the rest of the movie training under Weather's tutelage and learned that there is a difference between working out and being seriously in shape.

Anthony Clay many of takes were only done once because of very low budget they had for shooting Rocky and several lines of dialogue were improvised on the spot. Even the scene when Rocky talks about his robe being too baggy that was a mistake on the costume department and didn’t have budget to fix it so left it movie and Stallone improvised about robe being too baggy along with mistake department showing the poster of Rocky in red and white trunks. Stallone decided to write dialogue showing Rocky sees the mistake as his trunks where supposed to be white with red stripe on poster.

Great scene that's able to effectively convey a few things in very simple ways. The time on the alarm clock, the dark room only lit by the refrigerator, Rocky's slow movement as if he knows there's no backing out, so he forces himself to just go. Then there's the radio in the background which tells us it's cold outside. Uncomfortably so. And early. Way earlier than anyone should be up. But Rocky is up and the order of the day is training no matter what.

If not for your sake then lower the dose for the sake of your loved ones and don't worry you can still become a professional boxer without raw eggs, you just need focus, heart, good nutrition and an iron will and you'd be superior to Balboa himself.
