@@Framlii We can speculate that Voldemort would murder Moody in a straight up fight, even without the disadvantage of his co-worker abandoning him. Moody was an old man, and the year he spent imprisoned in his own trunk made him considerably weaker.

Fact I thought of: You guys remember in Order of the Phoenix when Molly asked Mad Eye to make sure that it was a boggart in the drawing room, and not something super dangerous. We all know boggarts take the shape of what scares the person before it. When Moody saw it, there was no one in the drawing room. It was alone, in its true form. Mad Eye was the only person ever to see a boggart in its true form. I wonder what it looks like

I like to think that Moody was able to see it’s true form not because of the magic eye, but because after years of fighting against Dark Wizards he had nothing else to fear despite having PTSD. It’s sounds just like him.

The worst fact is that people mocked him for it. Mocked him for having PTSD, for god sakes. They questioned Dumbledore for hiring him, they chalked up any of his suspicions to him being mad and never believed him, the name most know him by IS LITERALLY HALF REFERRING TO THE PTSD. Not to mention everyone saying things like “he considers the morning wasted if he hasn’t discovered 6 plots to murder him” and “he can’t tell the difference between a handshake and attempted murder” LISTEN, IF THAT’S THE CASE, WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE WAS OFFERED HIM HELP, he definitely needed it. It’s cruel, just cruel how they could treat a disorder like this. Anyway, he’s probably my favourite character in HP, very underrated

Alastor Moody was one of the best wizards of Harry Potter. Especially as he is like a war veteran, with impressive skills, knownledge and experience as result of his job. And just like the war veterans, Alastor ended disfigured after his service, physically and mentally, as Alastor showed clear signs of PTSD, much like the conditions that the soldiers suffers after the wars.

Oh my god, I’m going to cry so so much later in the series 😭. I’ve watched all the films before and read all of the books (though I don’t think I read the last one, but it was about 5-6 years ago I read the books, meaning I was like 8/9 years old. I watched all of the films about 3/4 years ago, but again not the last one, I found it too sad. But now, I am rewatching all of the films, and rereading all of the books. I’ve watched the first hp films 25+ times in the past 2 weeks and the second film only about 7 times. I haven’t watched the other films yet, and I am currently reading the first hp book. I’m thoroughly studying the films though, hence forth needing to watch them over and over as to not miss anything. And the books, I shall read each one 2-3 times, the first just reading it, the others making pointmarks for notes. But I will do it one book at a time, and go back through the whole series once I’ve wrote everything I need to. I’m writing every characters first and last lines at the beginning and end of the film series, and shall write a ‘fact file’ on every character I can from the book. My friends have told me I’m obsessed with Harry Potter.... yes. Yes I am.

Alastor is a definite representation of a ptsd war veteran. His character hits home with me because I’m army guard and my uncle is a ptsd stricken Afghanistan veteran and he is on medication and has a service dog. Alastor Moody is definitely a well deserved character of rememberance.
