*HP fact:* Evanna Lynch had an eating disorder at about 11 years old! she wanted to be skinny I think but I find that shocking since the same happened to me, (I didn’t get an eating disorder because I wanted to be skinny but I won’t go into it) another reason for me and Evanna to be quite alike. Evanna was in and out of hospital and JK Rowling sent many messages to Evanna to comfort her and give her confidence to keep eating and keep up her good work in acting. She recovered luckily but I still find it quite shocking.

Beside Hermione, Luna is one of my favorite character in the movie. And the actress, she played the role very well. She have very simple easy going happy life. Though she went tough moment, get bullied and so on, but her calm and happy personalities gave positive vibes to her friends. I love whenever she appeared. She is the brightest sun in the dark and evil in this novel/movies. When everyone were afraid and could only see darkness, there she is still see light and happiness. I actually thought she will be together with Harry. Because I never notice the spark of love between Harry and Ginny. (Maybe I missed it out) But anyway, I love Harry Potter so much. I grown up with it and still I wish there will be a special movie of them. Their world seem to exist and I hope they would reunited. And the actress who played a role as Luna would have more role in the future just like other.

I think the reason why both Harry and Luna can hear the voices behind the veil is not because they have seen death - if you remember well, Ginny is also strongly attracted by the veil. I think it is because they have gone through really difficult times (as did Ginny when she was possessed by Voldemort), they have known depressive states, they both felt, at some point of their lives, an attraction towards death, some kind of a death wish.

People said she was too strange too be with the hero. I've kniwn a few girls like Luna, doing things their own way, having interests that other people don't have, being usually lonely and bullied mercilessly because they are "weirdos" who say "weird things". Even if they find friends they perhaps attach themselves too strongly which causes further rejection and accusations of "trying too hard".

Agreed. Neville was socially and academically inept. He did however have a passion and a gift for Herbology and became physically courageous. Luna beat from a different drum, socially naive and academically capable. Just because they are outcasts, doesn't mean they would pair off.

I feel she is often under appreciated, but is a very uplifting person that helps many people through hard times as you mentioned.
