The variant walkers in this episode are very similar to the season 1 walkers. In Atlanta there were walkers carrying rocks to break down the glass doors, there was a walker that we saw start climbing a ladder, and in episode one there was Morgan’s wife who was turning the door knob.

these were considered one off instances, as this was darabonts vision. having the variant walker after all this time feels forced (clearly running out of ideas) and will be totally pointless to the story if this is a one off setup for what to expect in the spin offs. especially after all the times that the producers ensured to us that there were no variant walkers. all walkers were the same. slow and docile.

One of the better episode in the season imo. Like you said, more time outside the walls is appreciated. And the parts inside the commonwealth weren’t as incredibly boring as most

And also, Pamela just played with Lance, as a slave, putting him to feed her son (I think the whole point is to show how fucked up really Pamela is). After that, I think they just take the walker out, or bring in another bodies (maybe Shira's) for an amount of time and basically treat Lance like a pet, like a toy, like a child who gets punished with cleaning the backyard. This is the first episode when we see that Pamela really is a sick unhinged person, and very dangerous. So I don't think there needed to be a continuation of that. For me it was pretty clear. As for the next episode teaser, yes, I hate that they spoiled so much, but I don't see it as out of the blue like "Omg, how is Lance outside of the walls?". Pamela makes our people dissapear, she took Rosita, the kids, and maybe so many more. And Carol and Daryl are taking Lance out of prison by force and using him to get to our people

the scenes with pamela and lance is probably the BEST acting this show had ever seen. that whole scene was dark and gritty. really brought back the old feeling of the walking dead which has been lost for some time now. really love lance, kinda dont like the twoface/harvey dent rip off feeling though from earlier in the season

Yeah I don't like how Judith, RJ, Dog, Magna, Yumiko, Connie, Kelly, Gabriel, Nabila, and Negan weren't in this episode, it feels so off since they're supposed to also be living in the Commonwealth. Darn that mediocre budget.

I agree with what you said about Gabriel and other characters not showing up in episodes, it does really mess with the immersion. They could've just had Gabriel casually talking with Rosita about the shit that's up with Eugene or even just show him passing by in the background at the church or something, anything like that could've made it feel more realistic.Though, even if AMC happened to listen to the criticism, nothing can be done about it now since the episodes have already been filmed.

You can't put every character in every episode because each episode is only 50 mins long. If you included everyone in that short of time the scenes would be way too short. You could only give the characters a couple of lines of dialogue each.

Right, on amc+ prime it specifically says a new episode weekly. But this sunday there isn't. I asked customer support and they know nothing. They couldn't even tell me when it would air. I rarely make a complaint but this time i did. Not that i think amazon cares. But as far as I'm concerned it's false advertising. I looked where to watch and felt like I was going in circles where everyone wants my money but saw no info on if they had this episode out. I gave up and of course KZbinrs have seen it. I'm done.

They need to get going here! There's only a handful of these left and after episode 11x17 they've already slowed it down so much. I could've done without so many of these scenes here and the previous episode. I realize it can't all be action but after this whole last season being so slow and the show being over soon I guess I expected more.😅

this episode had small annoying problems with it like the fact Sebastien never bit anyone once they took the leash poll off him or the reason that walker picked up the rock at that moment what was it going to use it for then there was Aaron grabbing the walker with his metal hand and punching it in the face with his real hand and some characters missing not even being seen in the background

pretty decent episode, the smart zombies are a nice addition, they should have killed someone though it gets tiring how it doesnt feel tense anymore, you dont feel any threat, you can just see it coming that our characters will get saved somehow, like how many times are they gonna tease us with Jerry possibly dying it gets old...but the story was solid, the Commonwealth stuff was interesting, so hopefully they step it up now :)

this was a great episode. i think the best this season so far. 11a was pretty bad. b wasnt so bad but still had a lot of filler. c has been pretty refreshing i have to be honest. i am very critical of angela kang and honestly feel like she has ruined the walking dead, but tonight this episode was refreshing and brought back that feeling of anyone might die at any moment. i thought jerry was going to die at least three times. i think if this pace is kept up and we dont get anymore filler that this season could wrap up nicely, fully depending on a conclusive ending though. no setting up spin off's.. we have to end with a conclusion.

Was surprised you edited out that scene and didn’t look shocked with Pamela letting her zombie son Sebastian walk up to her and we see he didn’t bite her at all and just stood there as she didn’t have any zombie guts or anything on her and also didnt try going for Hornsby when Pamela and her guards walked away leaving Hornsby and zombie Sebastian alone. Btw man you really didn’t notice Pamela in her way out had one of her guards go back behind Hornsby to uncuff him because that’s what happened….

Variants technically have always existed. This retcon is able to explain all Walker behavior inconsistencies. Every character isn't in every episode because they don't NEED to be in the episode. It has nothing to do with budget. Every show does this I don't really care about this whole critic and nitpick the show to death. I think you are sabotaging your viewing experience.

What do you mean? I don't pause the episode at all, but if there isn't anything on the screen that is ultimately important in that moment, I HAVE to block it out temporarily to avoid copyright strikes. That is all done in editing
