They do say (accurately) that the seats are comfy. But compared to most "normal" cars, I think its fair to say that they ride harsher, are tougher to get into and out of, and have way less leg space. But for a hard core sports car, I agree it's not a bad place to be in.

Oh yes they (not all) like the Corvette. I have a tuned C4 ZR-1 which is a beast. Once I took a friend with me and had to hammer down the pedal and accelerate very hard on a highway entry because a truck came from behind. Suddendly my friend looked at me a smiled. I asked her why she is smiling. She answered that while I accelerated hard, from the screaming noise and frequencies of the angry LT5 and how she were pushed into the passenger seat, she got a orgasm. She made my day and left me speechless :)

Kids are the best! They really go nuts when they see the pop up headlights, as that’s just something they’re not exposed to anymore. Ultimately I agree, you should buy the car that makes YOU happy. But this was a fun social experiment and hey, a lot of people are at least curious!

I love how they looked but when with my near-similar CE LT4 with the Z51 suspension...Same car with a different paintjob and slightly narrower rear tires for $10k less! That said I do love the awesome Grand Sport paint job and completely get why they're worth so much.

Ouch -- as an "older guy" who sometimes drives a vintage Corvette I have labeled "my sexy date car" (vs. my everyday "dad car"), I learned several painful lessons watching this (extremely well-made) episode. Among them, apparently far fewer women consider it a "sexy date car" than I do. Oh, well. A question: in future episodes, are we going to learn more about these women (where they're from, what they do, etc)? Will there be a Dating Game-like "reveal" where we get to compare how they describe the car owners sight unseen to their reactions when they actually get a look at the guy?

I did have a section where the women talked about who they were/what they did for a living, but cut it out because I think you get a decent idea of them from what was left in (and I REALLY wanted to get to the main section of the video as quickly as possible). Might still post that bit on my Instagram tho, or include it in a later video where I dont have to explain the "rules" of the experiment. And no owner "reveal" section to the women, they're getting their reveal in real time with the audience as it premieres on KZbin! I did toy with that idea, but wanted to focus more on the cars/their reactions/rankings, which I thing are the most important part of this. But dont get me wrong...It was fun to see how right or wrong they were!

But I still thought this was a fun and enlightening social experiment to put on during quarantine. And keep in mind the Corvette actually scored pretty well. I think this series is gonna be great. I have read every comment and I like the fact that Brad doesn’t let the guys egos stir his focus on the subject at hand. The C4 didn’t score that well and it’s ok. Mine is a “me” car mostly. It’s a red 96 Greenwood and snaps necks when I drive it. The women’s thoughts on the car are interesting. I’m seeing that they think it is an older, successful man that’s going to drive it. I also think they would mostly think he has something very nice and more comfortable at home. I have a couple more of cars that I own in this series. A 99 Saleen mustang convertible and a 11 F-150. The F-150 is my luxury vehicle. I’m sure it will do well.

From my experience, hot cars / bikes get more attention from men than women. On the flip side of that, I have gotten more compliments on the inside of my Lexus from women than men. Statistically, there are always going to be outliers, but it seems like men get more enjoyment seeing something rad on the road where as women like to be in a car that's more comfy and luxurious. So the C4 getting a ranking on the bottom half isn't that surprising. Anyways, I really like this idea Brad. I'm stoked to see the rest of the vids. Stay Rad!

I watched an episode of Roadkill garage, where the team got to dive a Lamborghini Aventador to a car show/race somewhere on the west coast. The other guy was driving a Rat-rod that had been built by the garage. At least in the footage they showed, the Rat-rod got more attention than did the Aventador.

I'm 25.. bought my green 94 c4 in cash and i feel like once they actually sit in the car (especially if its 6 speed stick smoother ride vs the 4 speed) and go on a ride they would've rated much higher imo. It would be nice if all the ladies could actually ride in the Corvette and realize it’s much more comfortable and fun to be in they think. And yes it’s a bit difficult to get in but if you’re not old and decrepit you can get in and out of it quite easily.

I did my best to explain that the seats are actually quite comfortable, but compared to most modern cars, the ride is still pretty brittle, and there isn't much room inside, esp for passenger's feet. And again, compared to modern day cars, it's difficult to get into and out of. In a perfect (non COVID) world, we'd have all ten cars for them to ride along in person, though that would've been difficult logistically to do without them ever seeing the owners!

Thanks! Agreed, in a perfect world, they'd be able to check out all the cars in person, but in this COVID world that just wasnt possible. So I did my best to explain to them how the car was like to be in, ride, etc (even if I cut out a lot of that). I was trying to do Motocross(MX) video’s but didn’t have enough interesting motocross to cover. I ended up doing a lot of car video’s because that’s another one of my interest. I have shifted my focus but didn’t think of it that way thanks for pointing that out. And thank you for subscribing. I own one, but gotta say...The ride quality, ease of ingress and exit, and interior space leave a lot to be desired when compared to your typical modern car (what these non-enthusiast women are used to). Comfy seats tho!

The Corvette and the Viper are the only 2 that excite me. The Viper looks better than the C4, but the C4 is a better, more practical car. I love Corvettes, so I'd probably take the C4. But the C5 is where the real money is at, those are AMAZING cars.

In a perfect world we would have all ten cars of in a row ready for them to ride along in...but beyond the logistical difficulties of doing that without the owners around, COVID put the kibosh on that so this was next best thing. But they got a good sense of all ten cars equally this way so it worked for a comparison/social experiment.

By the looks of things, I think you answered your own question. Women do like Corvettes. And speaking of which, I have plans on saving up money to buy a sweet corvette. I have a Ford Mustang that I bought over a year ago from my cousin. It is a nice car to drive, but my dream car is a Corvette C4. I love those things

@@RetroCarsForever I've seen it. And from what I noticed, the Corvette was more popular. My Mustang is similar to the one that you guys had shown, with a couple of differences. One, mine's four years younger. And two, mine's also painted Electric Green. I've been thinking of painting it a nice black and adding some blue flames into the mix

This was a very cool idea for a video. The problem is, you asking women to rank a car based on the underlying premise of what theoretical type of man they would be associated with that car. That would be like asking a man to rank mindless tv programs based on the underlying premise of what theoretical type of women would be associated with that tv program. The only way you could elicited a more stereotypically bias from a woman is to ask them to rank different muscular frames of a fictional guy (from the neck down) or show them ten pictures of different types of guys and ask them which ones they feel are gun owners. When you are driving, take notice of the gender of who is driving the ugliest and cheapest cars on the road. As a person who has bought a lot of cars in 30 years, my favorite question to ask car salesmen is "who would buy THAT car?" (the ugliest model on the lot.) I cannot recall an instance the immediate answer was "mostly women." My prediction is the jeep will be number 1 or 2 because we live in a society of people who want to be "different like all my friends." 40k buys you a near top of the line new Jeep made by the worst auto maker in the world. 40k will buy you, if you are lucky, a 10 year old Corvette with 50k miles on it. Lastly, I would remove the one person who used the term "old soul." I have never met a person who used that term that had ANY tether to reality or true understanding of the world.

Lotta thoughts to respond to here... First of all, yes, this is admittedly an "imperfect" test, as the best way to do this would've been to have all 10 cars lined up in a row, and the women are allowed to ride in or drive all of them. But that's a logistical nightmare, especially during COVID, and not sure how you'd do that without them spotting the owners. But I did my best to give them a sense of the cars and answer their questions...there's a LOT that was cut out of each episode, and I think they had a good understanding of what each car was about. And figuring out stereotypes was part of the POINT of this series...What do people think of when they see a Mustang, or a Jeep, or whatnot? What associations do they have, good or bad? Ultimately, what does the car say about the owner? As for what you can get with 40 grand...You can get SEVERAL nice used C4 Corvettes for that kind of money! Lastly, I think the term "Old soul" is a really apt one, and Ive found the people who use that or understand that concept to be very intelligent and deep thinkers. I personally identify with that, as does the owner of this Corvette.

I was strongly considering including a Prius, but then realized a plain-jane Honda Civic would be a better "normal" car. In that episode we actually cover hybrids and the women's thoughts on them, because you could get a Civic as a hybrid as well. I figured that would be a good episode to bring up "hybrid vs gas", as you cant get a Prius as just a normal gas powered car.

I own a 1996 manual LT4 (Collector Edition, not a Grand Sport). A lot of people think you could ONLY get the LT4/6 speed in 1996 with the Grand Sport, but that's not the case! You can get an equivalent "standard" 1996 Vette with a manual for nearly 10 grand less than a Grand Sport. It'll still be hard to find, as they only sold like 6,000 manual Vettes that year, but be patient and you'll find one.

Well, I was hoping to be a little more surprised by the results but I guess I have a fairly decent idea as to how women have and still feel about the late model C4's and I can completely understand and appreciate their varying takes on the car and similarly varying opinions of the typical owners. Many C4 owners would likely agree with me in that some of the negative opinions based on visual observations alone could very easily be changed by giving the woman a ride in one, which of course, would change that 5.8 rating. :P Well put together video (no surprise there), and well put together Study/Experiment; and although not having been provided any actual specifics, but from both, my observations and from knowing a little about the Director who developed and is conducting this experiment, I like that the that he, the Researcher, assembled a very good selection of women with respects to their varying ages, personalities, professions, etc., comprising a very good control group and likewise with the vehicles chosen. I realize the numbers are rather small to provide a greater statistical value but I'm guessing the results would stand up fairly well to a control group several times larger. Thanks Bradman, for yet another informative and entertaining video! (Easy to watch, quality is... Professional level.)

You're right, in a perfect world, having the women in person and getting test rides would be the best way to do it, but that would've been SUPER hard to do without them seeing the owners, and besides that not safe in this COVID world. And I honestly dont think it would've changed the outcome much. I was pretty open in telling them (in cut material) how the car was like to ride in and such.

I wouldn't really expect a lot of 20-something women to like guys that drive Corvettes, since the Corvette largely has a stigma of being the car guys buy during their midlife crisis. There's also the idea that guys who buy Corvettes are trying to compensate for other (physical) shortcomings, if you get my drift.

I said it’s MOSTLY a cosmetic package, which is true. You could get the LT4 and Z51 in any Corvette that year (I have one!) Otherwise beyond badges and paint and a special vin the only other difference was slightly wider rear tires with some fender flares tacked on.

Id say the SEATS are comfy, tho the ride itself leaves something to be desired. Corvettes ARE old man cars if you look a the numbers. The average owner is around age 60, and overwhelmingly male. And it’s been that way for decades.

Yes, they do have the rep of being old man's cars, or midlife crisis cars, that old guys drive slowly and don't use their full potential. But, I have to say that I remember when I was in high school, one of my male classmates had a C3 Corvette. So there are exceptions to every rule.

To be fair, that DOES buck the trend...Average age of Corvette owners is upper 50s/early 60s. So even I am much younger than the trend. You ladies weren't far off in your guesses!
