No joke, "House" is the first scary movie I ever saw. I was 8 or 9 and I was sleeping over at my best friend, Robert's house. We watched it with his older brother and I to this day remember saying, "I feel so nervous." And his older brother responding, "Yeah, I am really clenching my butt over here." It was the funniest thing I heard in my life.

According to the creators his old friend wasn't haunting the place, rather the house feeds on the fears of its victim and uses them to drive the person to suicide. It seems when he was a child he just lacked a traumatic enough experience to awaken the spirit of the house.

It’s pretty realistic to haunted houses cus they’re not haunted for any person that’ll inhabit it. They have to be a specific kind of people to be made the target of disturbing to harmful supernatural stuff. It also sounds like amityville

Why doesn't Night Court get any respect???? It was on the air for nine seasons and it won a couple of awards. Why doesn't it get any respect?????? Beacuse it was on the same night as Cosby, Different World, and Cheers???? It's like comparing Flacco to Brady, Both Manning bros, Elway, and the Pitts - Burger. He's a great QB, but he's constantly not the best. Night Court was just constantly seen as not the best.

A lot of people don't understand the truth about the house in the movie, it's not in Roger's head and it's not Ben haunting him. It's simply the house, the house is haunted by demons which use your fears and memories against you. The aunt actually tells Roger this when he sees her ghost "this house knows everything about you. Leave while you can."

I appreciate you actually looking something up rather than a gloss over. Night Court was great, you should go watch it, sort of half sentimental and half sitcom. I'm actually surprised how long it's taken for you to run into Richard Moll, he's in a lot of the type of films you and your buddies review. :)

I love House. As a kid I didn't remember liking it, but when I came back to it as an adult, I loved it. They kind of lost me a bit with the whole mirror PTSD thing, but that part with the monster in the closet had me cracking up. I also really like the second one. I forget which one it is, where the Dad possesses a pizza and the Mom freaks out and throws him in the garbage disposal. That got a good laugh out of me.

Totally love this movie haven't watched the sequels, but I got a kick out of it when Netflix suggested it to me afyer watching the Reanimator. I love when horror had a sense of humor, especially when it doesn't come at the expense of genuine scares. Our natural responses to things we don't understand are fear and laughter, so the two can fit together very effectively.

Like the new opening (love the old one too). I wanted to suggest at one point that you should maybe update your opening once a year to keep it fresh but I didn't want to offend. It keeps it looking up to date (or up to date within a year anyway) with whatever you may have changed with a hair style or something. :)

The movie implies that she was being actively haunted and tortured, that's why she killed herself. There was nothing in the film that implies that his old army buddy was actually the one haunting the place. And why would he haunt that place for years instead of just going to the main character right away? I honestly felt like it was the house itself. I mean it's in the title.

the house is haunted(again too late) not him. it was also after his aunt, and killed her. She claimed the house was haunted and roger may even say that she said that when he was a kid before nam.. its been a while, either way i always read it that the house was haunted, preyed on the fears of each person and wanted them to kill themselves. (like the aunt) it would be different for each person living there. The house also seems to play a long game so taking the boy a year ahead to harm both the aunt and roger is in keeping
