At 2:26, the lifeguards call the water invigorating for its pleasant cool temperature. When Neely joins them, she calls the water "nice and warm". This is subtle continuity-building, referencing Neely's sorcerous training in the frozen ninth circle of hell, after which even the cool waters of Malibu feel warm to the touch.

It makes me so happy to think Baywatch Nights' events run alongside the regular series. So when Mitch is organizing a beach event, he saw a frog woman earlier that day, and after a wacky beach prank he'll run into vampires. Also Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan could pull up in a limo at any moment.

Fun fact; Here in South Africa one of our best runners (as in Olympic level) named Caster Semenya is in a difficult position. She identifies as female, was raised female, was assigned female at birth, but has since been identified as intersex. She comes across in her voice and physicality as male. And this is a problem because she is an Olympic athlete... for the women's division. Now problems are arising because she really IS that good an athlete, but the women of the sport are complaining that it's not fair because of her higher testosterone levels. As if she is on steroids when she isn't. However, she also cannot compete for the men's team either and if she did, she might not be able to compete against their speed and higher physical demands because her testosterone levels are not high enough to match the speed of the men, so she wouldn't be able to compete. She's been banned from the longer runs as new rules have been put into place regarding testosterone levels, and if she wants to compete in the longer runs she would have to take estrogen pills, something she feels she should not have to do just to compete when she feels no other reason to, health or otherwise. She has put in appeal against the new testosterone rule. She's a fascinating person, and in a difficult situation because even if you disregard gender identity completely, it brings up the difference in testosterone levels and estrogen levels and how it affects physicality in sport. And I don't know what the answer would be. Have it not separated by sex? Then hardly any women would be able to compete at all because men have them beat due to higher testosterone levels. Have it separate by sex? Then you have people like Caster, or even trans women/men whose hormones would affect their performance. It's a problem I don't know how to solve. Anyway good thing Baywatch was made in the 90s because I shudder to think how they'd try and win an Emmy tackling THIS particular battle of the sexes situation...

I’m rolling through season 7 of the actual series, all I can say is the writing has gone fully uninspired. All it feels like is sports competitions competing with drawn out rescues competing with montages to take away from any real story development. I actually cared to understand the plotline watching Allison’s take on this episode ! Also, Allison’s hasselhoff voice never tires…I love it so much!
