The opening scene for Antichrist really is something else... not to mention the scenes that follow it. Basically, the whole movie is wild lmao. I may have been under the influence when I first saw it which only made it even more intense. 😂 Luckily for Tara Reid, I always think of Urban Legend first when I hear her name. Lol still one of my favorites. David definitely needs to watch it! 💕 Kids is definitely an uncomfortable watch. I like gritty movies and I think it's good overall. I saw "Kids" in 1995 in this little art house theater, The Guild, in Hillcrest, San Diego's "gayborhood". At the time of its release, there was a lot of speculation as to whether the movie was technically child po#n, because of some of the events and the ages of the participants. Nonetheless, the movie was very effective as a wake-up call to parents. Throughout the movie, there was only one ( I think) visible parent, and most of the utterly crazy stuff that happens, happens because the kids had zero adult supervision. I was only 21 when I first saw the movie, and I found it to be an uncomfortable yet extremely engrossing film. Side note: the day I saw the movie, I had just been to the San Diego Comic Con earlier in the day with my aunt and cousin. Before going to the theater, we decided to go get ice cream cones at Rite-Aid. Two years later, I would find out that serial killer Andrew Cunanon worked at that same Hillcrest Rite-Aid at the time! Could we have been served ice cream by a serial killer??

M. Night has an excellent episodic show on Apple TV that I’ve never heard the channel mention. It’s called THE SERVANT, and it’s SUBLIME. 👍🏼Best thing I’ve seen from him since THE VILLAGE. It’s set in an old pre war Philadelphia row house, the creep factor and atmosphere is seriously chilling, and the premise is original and very compelling. And omg it’s sooooo good. It stars the red haired woman from SIX FEET UNDER (Lauren Ambrose) and the performances are top notch. I loved SIX FEET UNDER. ♥️. The channel should check it out and do a reaction! David would LIVE for this show too. 😩

Just to clarify about Mother’s Day, the mom does end up dying. The events of the film take place over 2 days, so there’s no baby. The two sons die first, then the mom. This is for Steve, because someone has to say it. 😂 ANTICHRIST is a highly misunderstood, brave, unique and existential feast for the eyes, utter masterpiece, and a favorite of mine. It hurts my heart a little when people bash it and don’t get it. Also if you watch this film and only see the graphic nature of it, you may be watching it, but you’re not really seeing it. And I don’t care about the people behind it; writer and director lars von trier’s despicable baggage means nothing to me in the context of his films only. I’m capable of separating art from the artist, but aware enough to understand that many people cannot. I won’t defend his behavior. However, I will defend the brilliance of the film ANTICHRIST. It’s not misogynistic or women hating. It’s a hating of the darkness within human nature, and a standing ovation for the truth of things- that no matter how much our nature tells us to try and control things, other people and ourselves, our lives and decisions, the very world around us, to the point where we even try and control when we die and do anything to extend our lives and defy death for those we love and ourselves, control is actually an illusion. At the root of it all, it’s chaos that reigns, and nature is its kingdom. And there is nothing to be done about it except to accept that there are things beyond our control. This film also gives recognition of the juxtaposition of the two: the human need for control and the chaos that has zero respect for that and will ultimately always win. And for me, that’s the true meaning of this film. And this film truly is a masterpiece.

In Mother's Day, one of the girls kills the mother but her crazy sister who's hiding in the woods attacks them at the end. The sons deaths with the Drano and axe to the groin were gross, especially seeing the guys nuts fall out. It's a truly gross and disgusting movie on so many levels.
