It's pretty normal in human conversation to ask questions relevant to another person's statement. Like "I grew up next to Patrick Ewing!" could easily result in a response of "Oh no way that's cool beans, where did you grow up?" An example of an unnecessary question would be overly private information like "what was she in rehab for?" Or "what were some child hood traumatic events she discussed during group therapy?" I hope this helped you get a better feel for how discussions work and some differences between appropriate and less appropriate questions when continuing conversations. When you are unsure, you can always ask yourself if antagonizing and criticizing strangers for their questions will achieve anything positive or if you're better off just moving along until you encounter a situation you're less uncertain about. If find that this type of situation doesn't actually come up and you always want to just antagonize people for no reason, you can always seek out more professional help such as life coaches or self improvement books, or even a therapist. 😃👍

He wasn't "struck by lightning" Those flashes and what looked like a falling star were inside his head, the blinding lights often attributed to people getting seizures like epilepsy cause but with certain brain tumors instead. That's why no-one else saw the "lightning" While the seizure and bright lights are known to be true, and in some cases the language learning skills is documented. But the premise of suddenly having an amazing memory, or being able to use skills and have knowledge that has never previously been learnt is false.

I never saw this but the idea is similar to that of the movie powder. Powders mother was killed by being hit by lightning but he survived in the womb and was born with an IQ of 260 or close and has powers. The movie seems to be much different otherwise though.
