@@minimochi2206 At 12 I watched my father having a heart attack and being put in the ambulance never to see him again. My mind used to go back to those minutes often and I would be sad. I think the brain repeats events as a way to learn from them or change the outcome. Like if you had a car accident maybe you do need to replay it a bunch but with the death of my father and your sibling there is no learning from it or fixing it. I bet if I asked you could think about the beach or even how red watermelon is. So when i start remembering I choose to remember him throwing the football in the front yard with my brother and I or any pleasant memory. I’m sure he would be unhappy with me remembering him at his worst. I know this is a lot of info but m a old guy now and it would be nice to help someone a bit. The last thing a promise is that most people use the word “guilt” wrong when they really mean “sad”. I have diabetes and that's what I am saying like I would first go very high yes like said in the show but two days not eating and needing an insulin shot? No thats not how it workes. First I would go really high for a couple hours then I would have an extremely low blood sugar from not eating for so many hours. The reason I would go high at first is because of the amount of exercise that would be put into swimming at first making my blood sugars spike up and then down...

I've been to plenty of large pools but I've never seen a hard, fiberglass cover. Even Olympic pools have a fabric cover or no cover at all. I didn’t know that indoor pools had covers at all, also isn’t situation supposed to be stopped by LIFEGUARDS? Like that is why they are still around in closing periods right? To make sure no one will drown in the pool in the business of people getting out for the day
@jena.alexia3 жыл бұрын
The public pool I worked at had a fabric/plasticy cover and yes, lifeguards and other staff are there well beyond closing time to check there's no one still in the pool, or anywhere. Very unlikely to happen in real life. Can't speak for pools on private property eg. Hotels/motels, country clubs, learn to swim centres etc.

This actually reminds me of a similar story I heard when I was in my first elementary school, apparently a few years earlier 2 sisters who did after school swimming had gotten stuck in the pool after the cover went on at the end of the day and because they were only around 6 and 8 they weren't able to be pull it off on their own and ended up drowning. The school did a memorial thing every year, but no one ever said anything more specific than "to those we have lost" so as to not freak out the students since this was a primary school and we still used the pool. I actually heard the story from my big sister, but it was one of those situations where of you tried to ask a teacher or anyone else they'd just look sad and tell you not to worry about it. Apparently it was quite an intense situation when they were found the next day at morning swim class and no one really got over it. Understandable.

As a diabetic, I can say this is a completely inaccurate depiction of diabetes. If your bloodsugar is low, you would need to eat sugar or get a shot of glucose, not get a shot of inuslin. Insulin is for high bloodsugar, and if you get insulin when your blood sugar is low, it would drop lower and you would probably die. Insulin is not like an epi-pin either. It's a pin with an adjustable dial for how much insulin you want to get depedning on how high your bloodsugar is, or how many carbs your eating(You have to get insulin for carbs in whatever your eating). They probably mistook insulin for a glucagon pin which is used if your blood sugar is severly low.

I see everyone suggesting "smarter" ways of getting out of the pool, the fact that it was fiberglass, and the janitor being "unbelievable" but what did you expect from a lifetime movie? First of all, I've seen this movie a couple years back, and lemme tell you I wasn't surprised that there was a way for them to get out of the pool. The janitor being the antagonist just gave them that very cliche plot twist. I'm never surprised when I see movies like this, I'm already so used to it that I can anticipate what happens. Very basic. You can pretty much label them as "jealous/stalker/thriller" movies.

Saw this film years ago, but wanted to watch this because I completely forgot about the film and how it ends etc. Very unrealistic like previous viewers have mentioned... As someone who's been in many pools near closing time there's absolutely no way you're getting free swim time lol. Staff always spot you and always tell you to leave at least 15mins before the pool closes. Even underwater swimming - they'll spot you etc, but who cares we don't watch these films for realism! Can't get over realising it's the same actor just now. Lol love it. Okay just paused at 0:30 to write this. Going to watch the rest of this now.

So I can’t say I’ve seen every pool ever and that it’s impossible for this type of cover to exist but in my years on swim team I’ve only ever handled fabric covers and they were not only only used for outdoor pools, but also had gaps/slack I imagine for this type of situation. And if they did have these fiberglass cover, I just have to wonder, they wouldn’t leave ANY failsafes allowing someone to get out? Like being able to slide out with someone’s force, or having gaps near a ladder or such? And that’s before you get out of this weird convenient negligence where literally no maintenance crew or other pool staff enter the pool for 5 days during extended closing, besides the one conveniently crazy/desperate fired janitor.
@HarveyVamp3 жыл бұрын
Agree completely. I've been in many pools near closing time and staff always see people. As a diabetic, thats not how insuline works. The explanation is a little blank. Its not possible to fall in diabetic coma so fast unless she didnt treated herself from atleast 6/7 months before. From one-time high sugar you could only feel bad. In this situation low sugar could be more dangerous, as with nothing to make the sugar go higher its possible to faint.
