Actually those bar stools are at a distance. I once saw out my window 7 squirrels feeding on the large lawn across the street for some time in a perfect hexagon with the center spot taken. They were about 7 or 8 feet apart, I could see down on the slope from above. Squirrels have their social distance when feeding.

I retired this spring. And we have several feeders in the backyard. But I put one in the front by our enclosed porch and thoroughly enjoy it. They come at certain times of the day. So watching this in compressed time with only activity is nice. Is it bad to say it’s agonizing waiting for something to come? But it’s so pleasing when they do.
