Everyone sums up the “do you love her” question to reference Kyra but in the end it was about his love for his sister and how far he’d go to keep her safe, even throw Kyra “under the bus”
@juberthubberly77762 жыл бұрын
@Supreme Risings 757 yeah ik that’s why I put it in quotes. But at the end of the day if the question was solely about Kyra that wouldn’t have happened. When it’s all said and done the question really was about “how far would you go to protect your sister” which is also something he brought up in the case Also the theme of sibling love is really common throughout the show. When he got Kyra back from doing sex work she said she would do anything for her brother the same way Bless would do anything for Hero (Sorry for talking so much I just really like the show)

Brilliant performances from up and coming, extremely talented young actors, who left me on the edge of my seat, an unusual situation for me at an old age where nothing usually moves me unless it's a laxative. I had to watch all episodes in one go and didn't regret the lack of sleep. I was not aware of the novel by Imran Mahmood but I will read it now. Well done you young magical actors, you all have wonderful careers ahead of you and thank you for stirring up emotions within me that I thought were long dead. The tell tale sign to this whole thing is in episode three at about 15:00 minutes in. He says "I am not a drug dealer, I'm not some crack head, I sell cars" then he bites his lips. If you go back to episode 2, his boss at the dealership pointed out his tell whenever he tells a lie, which was that he bites his bottom lips. That one part is the real story, he was a drug dealer and his sister and curt were part of his operation. He waited until evidentiary stage was over to tell this tale because he knew the court will not probe for further evidence at the closing, this is why he asked his lawyer how the law works. He knew he had no chance if further investigation was to take place, so he tried to use the closing as a means to tug at the jury's heart strings as a way to get off.

This was the best thing I've seen on T.V for such a long time. Had me gripped from the start. The fact that the screen play was from a book made it easier to accept the poetic license (No way would the defendant be able to make a closing statement like he did). The whole cast were excellent in their delivery. The ending was a bit disappointing. It left me confused, that was probably the intention anyway. I absolutely loved it.

After watching all the episodes. This certainly resonates in today's broken society with regards to drugs, gangs, knife and gun culture. I think Hero lied about a lot of things in his story. I think he & Jamil sold drugs together & Hero set him up to take all the drugs & money. My reason being is how nice Jamil was to him throughout the series. Its as if they were close friends or partners in crime. Whenever Hero needed something Jamil was there to help, also Jamil was in college wich leades me to believe Hero may have been the one actually in charge. He got into a shootout & started a gang war for Hero & Towards the end when Hero was setting Jamil up to buy cocaine he offerd to give Hero a 5% split even tho he owed Jamil money. Also notice in the beginning when Hero took the stand he said "drug dealers die everyday" as if he was accustomed to the lifestyle. I could be wrong but this is my theory & he was definitely found guilty.
@MyJesskay2 жыл бұрын
All of this and the fact in certain scenes he was a bit too confident. For e.g. going to meet Kyras brother spooks. He dominantes that meeting. Not really getting high from the crack spliff and it still being in his system at arrest. Crack lasts a few days in the system I believe. I really did wonder why Jamil had so much empathy for him and why at the shooting scene he is upset that the boss was there to harm hero. Alot of nuggets in the show lead to hero being more than his story let's on. The whole major emphasis on being a car salesman and how good of a boss he had is also a bit much

I think the answer is no we don’t not know him, by the end of the movie all we really know is that the stories he tells can’t be trusted and he says the one answer he can answer completely truthful is that he loved her, I think there is a lot of of this to indicate we don’t no the true story, the jury doesn’t know either or the lawyer doesn’t know the true story, what we do know is that jamil is a great sales man and is a fantastic liar, if he is telling the truth to the lawyer about what really happen can we really trust anyone who can come up with a plan like that to make it look as someone framed him anyone who can come up with n extravagant plan like that can also come up with multiple extravagant stories which is what he does through the entire move, all we know by the end is that jamil is a liar good sales man/story teller and that the one thing he knows to be true is that he loves her.

Crime thriller but it's also a bit of love story. I did find mind self getting a bit invested to find out what happens but having seen the final episode and it's a bit of a let down. *Spoiler alert* It's one of those cliff hanger endings which I believe is meant to convey that whatever the jury decide is it doesn't matter as he loses either way based on his 'good boy' character and principles which he upholds to his mother. This doesn't really come across clearly nor is that believable which is a shame. I think they could have come up with another ending or played out different endings to make a bit more memorable.

I thought this was an amazing series. I love courtroom drama and I love a good love story. This is an excellently written and performed British Tv series. It once again demonstrates the wonderful talent the British isles produce time after time. The premise to this show is centred around a court room final deliverance from the suspect himself, and uses flashbacks to re-construct the incident for which the suspect is in the courtroom defending. The layout is interesting and has clever points of reference to how gangland gangs work. It holds well the twists and turns right to the very end and I would definitely recommend this programme to all. One final point I’d like to understand is how close the series is to the book as the writer of the book is a qualified barrister and it would be fascinating to see if he has a deep awareness of the violence and attitudes of gang culture in the present day …. However, thank you to all for this brilliant TV series.

In my opinion, it is one of the best shows to come out of the UK since Peaky Blinders. I appreciate the casting choices as well. Casting creatives who can speak Yoruba regardless of their British accents was thoughtful and lovely to see. The way each episode plays out, the intensity of each scene, the general tone and feel made for a seamless and thrilling watch. The plot twist at the end was expected, though, but nonetheless. It was done right. An easy 4/5 for those who care about this, lol.

Going through all that extra crap and putting your life on the line in Court was just dumb! Jamil was a known gang memeber and You got like 5 witnesses that will all say it was self defense. Why would you make up some other stupid story and risk life in prison. Made no sense at all! The twist was lame too. I was more into it when we thought Kyra set him up. That would've been a great twist and revealing why she did it. After all that they fake us out twice and dont even give us the verdict!?? GOT, Ozark, Dexter, now this,...
