I got a little emo at the end there, Matt. I had a similar life event with our first house that my kids came home to from the hospital. My oldest was 18 when we sold it. We had a closet door that we measured the kids on the inside as they grew. On my last walk through I saw it, went out to my truck, got a hammer and screw driver, took it off the hinges and took it with me to our new house. I installed a new door for the new owner. 😊

That is truly one tough birdfeeder. Survived the felling of the tree, a run through the sawmill and now the transport to it's new home. Great fun to see it hanging from the forklift.

Man! To think I watched you saw and stack virtually every one of those slabs in the years gone by! I don't know if you intended it as such, but this video is a testimony to where perseverance, hard work, and a great deal of bloody-mindedness can get you. I remember how so many times in years gone by we guys would badger you about handling all those back-breaking slabs by hand... Now look at you! A forklift with every load shifting, fork spreading option on it except a washroom and the kitchen sink! A telehandler that can unload a truck box with at trailer still attached, or unload at the back of the field while parked at the front! lol! and then your serious, direct culmination clip at the end... Cripes, Matt, you nearly sprung me a leak! Stop it! Dammit! ;-) A stellar video. I enjoyed all 40 minutes of it! Congrats, Matt & Lindsey, on the all of it! I hope your new home brings you even more joy and satisfaction as the first one did...

I am so jealous watching you as you move to the next big phase of your life. I have my own shop I started when I was young. I am now at the stage of my life where I am thinking of clearing out the equipment. However, I have a large building that needs maintenance, a huge pile of steel, and a woodlot. So, of course I am building a sawmill. The saw head is nearly finished. I have to build the track next. I have been inspired by the build of your mill. Mine is not as pretty as yours. I am using the steel I have on hand. I can't wait to see what you present to us next.

That's a hell of a process mate.. of all the thing in life which really suck, Moving house is at the top of the list.. The longer you're in a place the more daunting and time consuming it is due mainly to the sheer volume of STUFF one accumulates.. Having said that, your skycrane at the new place is marvellous.. effortlessly yanking those 4 ton bundles of slabs from 30 feet away..! Thanks for all the great videos over the years from Admiral Lane.. looking forward to many years more from your new patch :)

I learned 2 things about future forklift purchases... Buy one that has an automatic for width adjustment and buy one that can move the forks sideways. Congrats on the move Matt and Lindsey!!! It has been exciting to follow you up to this point and see your business and family grow. It will be awesome to see what you do with your new homestead.
@jpkalishek4586
@jpkalishek4586 3 жыл бұрын
use one without side shift and you learn to hate a lot of people who have side shift ("I'll just shift this over behind this pole and give us a bit more space to pack something right next to it") and stacking stuff on uneven surfaces is about impossible. Width adjustment is nice, but does block your view of the forks, so there are some uses that it is not necessary, but over all and for Matt's kind of use, definitely a nice addition.

What is the high pitched sound that the forklift makes even going forward? I bet you guys are really happy to be out of the city. I am happy for you Matt. You can really expand your horizons where you are at now.
