Yes!! For anyone who just stumbled on this channel, I implore you on behalf of your future trading accounts to go to the first videos and watch them in order. I promise you at first you will have an 'a-ha' moment, then you will test a bunch of indicators that are garbage...but then you will have mined gold! But you do need to start at the beginning, there is a method to the madness. In the end you will be free from such things as trying to decipher chart patterns and where to to draw fib lines, and you will be left with a rule based system that you have personally checked and double checked. VP's method is akin to him teaching you how to build a car vs. teaching you how to drive 'someones' car. You will know where every bolt goes and why! Pure gold!

The best, strongest statement! its like you are sitting in a class and everything goes quiet and smooth, you listen, you take notes, nothing stays in a head, just wind blows... and all of a sudden, out of the blue, the lecturer shakes the whole class verbally, and in a split second you put all the stuff in your head, and feel energized (sort of like when you get the wings when you drink red bull), and you feel thirst for more knowledge. Thanks VP!

I came on late this time because of duty, but following VP is infectious, and I couldn't sleep without going through his rich content delivered today. Thanks VP, I didn't know that I have arrived at the destination since two months now. I've used the MAs as my baseline since last year when I started watching Steve Primo's videos, but I didn't seem to agree with the 50SMA that he uses as baseline. I needed to enter trades much earlier. This led me to VP's channel and then the HMA indi that changes colour based on trend direction. I tweaked it until it's now serving me with results. I love it because it takes me in on time and takes care of the colour change that's known with Heikin A. It doesn't repaint. In combination with the VPT (which I tweaked), they combine with one other confirmation Indi, then Volume Indi to give me a canary song trading. I'm no more scared of entering trades when my algo gives me a shout out. I looked for dead markets of almost ranging currency pairs to test since February, so I know whenever I lose, it is minimal and rare. The lose I remember was a NZD flash news that made NZDJPY to drop by over 125 pips. Thanks VP for tweaking my mindset from PA to proven Indies. I believe I've 3 indi combinations forming like 3 Algos now that I can use to earn. So I'll keep practicing until I get enough results to trade for prop firm.

Thank you VP. I have been doing split forward testing. On one hand is a C1 that backtests lots of trades and produces a large net return over 2 years, but low ROI. On the other hand is the C1 that has a high ROI, but produces few trades over 2 year backtesting that I don't net much $. I watch this video and I see that I just need to combine them, that the latter is just my baseline. Boom! My need for this split test goes away. :)

Listened to this video two or three times so far. It has a close similarity to something that happened many years ago. Although spoken to me by my boss this can be implied from your videos. Finished college and went to do an apprenticeship. During the apprenticeship working closely with my boss there was a critical life changing thing discovered VP your videos and teaching contain the essence of this. Anyone who tries to think, do and use exactly the same tools as you will only ever be at best A CARBON COPY. As we all know carbon copies are never as good as the original. Those who take the training and learn to develop their own methods may one day discover something that will set them apart even amongst the very best.
@slipsonic8095 жыл бұрын
I'll put this here since we had a little discussion on discord and I learned something. My baseline is the TMA/triMA, but you have to be careful you don't use a 'centered' TMA because those are shifted a few bars to the left to cut out lag. The gap in data at the right leading edge is then extrapolated using one method or another, which causes centered TMAs to repaint a few bars back from the hard right line. Just something to keep in mind. If you use a TMA, just make sure it's not centered.

Great video - turns out I've been using a somewhat unique "baseline" indicator from the start. I didn't know it was so important as to be a part of your algorithm. I kinda felt like it was too simplistic being just a moving average and an adjusted form of price. When I shared it people weren't too impressed, but it worked well nonetheless so I kept it around. Nice to feel a bit vindicated for keeping it around. Now I know to give it as much attention as all of the other pieces.

The only thing that was missing in my algorithm is the ATR and the volatility indicator. I use my confirmation indicator as my exit indicator (mostly for trailing my stop) as well. The volatility indicator has helped me identify how much price will retrace once I have entered a trade. Actually, I have noticed that deep retracements after my entries are a result of low volumes in the market so now I will most likely not be taking these trades anymore. My algorithm has been able to give me a R:R of 1:n because I stay in a trade as long as possible and I am always sure how much I will lose in a trade without the ATR because I use my confirmation indicator with candlestick patterns. I can confirm that one would never blow an account your algorithm as long as their position sizing is correct. Thank you so much for the information that you have shared 😁

Here's an idea I've yet to test ... make your SMA period the same as the ATR. So at the beginning of any week set SMA to same as the previous weeks ATR (ie. 5 days). That might give us important hi/lo swings easily seen by price crossing a matching SMA. I'll check this idea out over the weekend.

hours and hours of backtesting really gives yourself that validation and confidence in your own system... I think its a vital part in building the strength of your psychology. If you just go with someone else's work or just use those auto-backtesting software, your brain never really goes through all that wear and tear which makes you susceptible to changing and changing your system as you haven't built your own confidence in it or you could just keep testing another indicator and another indicator in a software and it never ends... but when you've put in that labor and its going to take a lot of time to do more... the ground under your psychology is is really becoming solid... just a thought

Crosses are wonderful and work very well I must admit! You just need to have an exit plan and also would advise to start with a lower timeframe. You can even start with the 1min. and what you'll notice, is that you can start to work yourself up to higher frames when seeing fit meaning, if you start with 1min and it's heading up(LONG) nice, you then observe the 3min. If you see 3min cross, now you can decide to stick with 3min and so on & so forth! You cannot judge Moving Averages by observing the Daily chart, obviously you'll be in late therefore, you would need to check and wait for yet, another opportunity on a lower frame....😎

I just tested 2 MAs (at the same time) on GBPCHF. Together they actually prevent me from getting into bad trades. There are sometimes where it gets me into bad trades but I would say it's rare, and I doubt there's a baseline or two that work together that prevent you from taking a bad trade 100% of the time. I know you said to find a unique baseline, what if we used 2 instead? But not entering when they cross, but entering when price crosses both. Maybe it's just for that pair, but I will tell you, out of 20-30 trades in the past year, only 10 were bad. Even less if you wait until price crosses and closes the two baselines. You might be missing some trades, but you're gaining more pips overall because you're not in losing trades.I will deff keep looking for more, and keep backtesting and forward testing, it's actually wicked fun specially when you see results. I wouldn't feel 100% right making money if I didn't earn it. :P I'm in a group chat where all they do is talk about support and resistance and I try to feed them little by little a new way of trading, I don't give them everything but they won't budge. They're dead set on using the Dirty Dozen on a consistent basis. I feel so bad for them. :( As always VP, you're the man, thank you. BANG!!! GET ITTTT!

Then if an 8 EMA ( Thin Blue Line = 2 pixels ) make a Crossover near the PRICE , these are Clear Signals for Entry supported by a Super Engulfing Candle & Signal for Exit when crossover break thru the Price. Also there are the GOLDEN CROSS & DEATH CROSS which are the 50 EMA & 200 EMA crossover as BASE LINE for the start of a major trend in the BIG PICTURE. UPTREND when 50 EMA rising above 200 EMA ( Golden Cross ) wait to BUY and DOWNTREND when 50 EMA falling below 200 EMA ( Death Cross ) , wait to SELL

This is crazy, I literally just put a 200 moving to see where the trend is going because I notice that most of my losses are because of a small pullback when I back tested my indicators and now VP just confirmed that what im doing is correct. Damn! Im getting excited!

I have been using an MA in my process, but you can bet your sweet one, I’m moving on to look for/or modify something even better! Thanks VP for your wisdom!!

That algorithm piece reveal hyped me up😂. Seriously though, thanks for everything you do, I'm learning so much in such a short amount of time. Only a couple months ago I was still trading reversals on the 5 minute chart with a HA-RSI indicator and now I wouldn't dare to do such a thing.

Amazing. Thank you for all of your information and sharing your algo free of charge. I've always used the MA to wait for price to break above and bounce off it for confirmation but that's starting to seem like an intraday mindset. Trading the daily chart, a candle closing above really is all there needs to be for a nice confirmation. I trade stocks/ETFs right now, but am studying up all your material and will demo FX. Your approach really helps me in the stock market too. With ETFs especially there are nice trends to follow.

VP - I noticed that any indicator that can perform a "return to mean" seemed make good trades. Never thought about a using a baseline to accomplish this. Because Forex is heavily manipulated, this causes the price to return to value all the time AKA "the mean price". You are visionary! Thank you!

I was wondering rest of the list was not quite "entry" signal so that any trend change indicator like derivatives of MA could be the one.... and here we go! Thank you! Looking forward to the next few videos.

VP Thanks a lot. I actually had this part before, but I have started to think this way because of your way of trading and rally digging the internet for indicators and ideas! Having this mindset is GOLD! Thank you

I'm still very new to the market and I liked crossovers for a while it was the first strategy that was so easy to see how it works but last week I was looking at my charts and came to the conclusion you only need one MA for the strategy and you get better results. Maybe more losses but with good risk management and the earlier entries on good trades it's fine.

Something you might want to look into using is Joe Dinapoli's 3x3 SMA. The 3x3 SMA is a 3 period daily simple moving average displaced 3 periods (days) into the future. This is a leading confirmation indicator and is based on the daily close being above the 3x3 SMA for long trades and the close below the 3x3 SMA for short trades. Joe did extensive research into using moving averages and found the 3x3 SMA to be his best confirmation indicator. You can google "Joe Dinapoli 3x3" and find lots of information on this moving average confirmation indicator. This is an excellent 2nd confirmation indicator. I have one that is way better because it's faster but that's for my eyes only. In MT4 you can create the 3x3 by opening the Moving Average dialog and entering Periods: 3 and Shift: 3. Experiment by trying 3x3 EMA, Smooth, WMA and you can do the same for like Hull MA, etc. Test it out, you'll be glad you did and you can even use it as a baseline to find one better, like I did. Hope this helps someone!

I started trading the same as everyone else but have totally change my strategy from watching all your videos and had to completely forget all the old rubbish I learnt. Takes all the guess work out and only trade if my system tell me so. 👌

You got me there, VP! Love your sneaky reveal, it's so unexpected. Now I'm so eager for the next 3 Thursdays to arrive! I had an MA as a baseline but I removed it after following your methodology cos I thought it doesn't fit in. Now I'm glad I at least got the concept right before.

Had to come back to this comment a little over a week later of bingeing every. single. video. in every bit of free time possible all while not sleeping. And wow. It makes sense. One video would not do this algorithm justice. Still a horse load of work to be done, but damn. I've been red pilled in trading. Thanks VP.
