Now would you look at this. Those who you accused of “doing absolutely anything to get their way” lost the election. And what did they do? They called the winner to congratulate him. Just like anyone honoring democratic processes would do. Now let’s remember what the other side did when they last lost an election? January 6, 2021 anyone? And what did he do this time, even before the ballots were closed? Spread fake news about fraud in Pennsylvania. As a foreigner temporarily living in the US (I will leave once my work visa expires, no need to send the troops) I am still baffled how smart people like you, VP, twist the facts and are able to look past so many things Trump is putting out in the open. I’m sure you know that some of the narratives used in Trump’s campaign are just not true. I’m sure you know that Haitians aren’t invading Springfield to eat everyone’s cats and dogs. I’m sure you know other countries aren’t purposely emptying their prisons and sane asylums, helping the inmates to cross the border. And maybe you even have the suspicion that he might not end inflation, the Ukrainian war and the Middle East conflict, all on day one. Yet the thought of a man with such a detached relationship to truth and honesty running the country seems to scare far less people than the Left. I would really like to understand what drives so many people to just ignore those things he says and does, and better yet even flipping it around and accuse the Democrats of doing things that only Trump has actually done (see above). You have now put a man in power that is ignoring your constitution, your countries laws, not denying that he is a Fascist and is openly dreaming of dictatorship. As A German who is somewhat familiar with my country’s history, I’m scared that you just opened the gates to hell. And you still say the Left would be far worse.

Just a thought… in forex, as currencies trade in pairs, cheap/expensive definitions (in line with the key takeaway of today’s podcast), is not really a thing as if one of the pairs is “expensive/cheap” the other side of that pair is the opposite… net zero effect, right? 😉

There was defiantly political bumper stickers in the 90s when I started voting, and pretty sure were not new then either, granted it might have been limited more hard core of either party. Though some of that might picked up if they spent a little more to put them on magnets, so easier remove after the elections and less risk of damaging surface placed it on.

Somebody tell me if this trade could work (especially if you're a former Vegas sports bettor 😉): You go to one of the election betting sites and bet on Trump to win (it might happen, who knows). Then you hedge with a bet on Harris to win the popular vote (it will probably happen). If Trump wins you get paid (.40 profit) plus the bet on Harris to win the popular vote (.25 profit). If Trump loses, you will break even assuming you bought enough Harris contracts on her winning the popular vote. You only lose if Trump wins the popular vote.

Hey VP, I like your way of thinking for how economically things will turn out depending on the election outcome but I wonder. Both predictions assume the recession will have to happen in the next four years. Wouldn’t it make more sense if a democrat wins to just push the recession further and further until we’re back at a republican office to let the market drop? How much power do the big banks have in terms of kicking the can down the road?

My thought is that if dems win, the budget deficit will continue to grow and USD will become devalued, causing a market rally on equities etc. If repubs win, then I can see corporate tax breaks, a stronger economy, etc. Subject to elite meddling. But the net result will again be a rally in equities. I still refer to the Benner Cycle and note that a significant drawdown/crash won't be until 2026, but that's just my perspective on things. If you're investing and DCAing, you shouldn't care either way and just keep at your system

@@NoNonsenseForex I've seen a quote to the effect that "empires last 250 years", and amusingly the US is 248 years old - that exactly lines up the Benner cycle and my existing trade thesis. Maybe that's just confirmation bias but I will be extremely mindful of it in two years and ensure I'm not overleveraged. In the short term, I heard rumors that Trump wanted to do a 20% tariff to everyone, 60% to China. Since I also sit on some collectibles as an investment, I'm expecting Feb-Apr to be a soft cutoff before the secondary markets really pop off on those, but I expect commodity markets might react sooner than that as well. Either way, best of luck, even if I'm not successful you've been a huge help getting me this far

The Pomp interview with Howard Lutnick was interesting. He suggested that they will use all the USA natural resources to help generate 1 trillion dollars per year. In the Joe Rogan interview Trump said he will keep RFK "Jokingly" away from energy. In a recent Elizibeth Warren interview she said she just wants Bitcoin to be regulated like any other finacial instrument. Her tone has changed massively from "Destroys the climate, only criminals use it". I personaly hope Trump wins because I beleive that will make me the most money. Just for the fact he will get out of the way for crypto and tech. Plus what happens if Bitcoin goes up to $150,000 next year and Trump is president. He is going to take credit for that big pump and draw even more attention to Bitcoin. What if at that moment in time Howard Lutnick and RFK suggest the USA to consider a Bitcoin reserve. Now this is pretty far fetched but a guy can dream :)

From my point of view outside of the US the Democrats were stupid once again. It was obvious to everyone that it was highly unlikely for Biden to go for a 2nd term. They should have built a successor and that definitely wasn't Kamala Harris who seemed to be invisible for the last years. I don't think it will make a difference in the long run who becomes president. I agree with you regarding the economy. Currently they still put in a lot of money to keep the economy up as good as possible. If the economy looked bad, the race would be over anyway. In general I think a lot of political parties had a lot of luck when they were voted out in the last couple of years. The parties who were responsible for pumping money in the economy which caused inflation and made the central banks raise the interest rates, aren't in office anymore. These things would have happened for every party and it would have been accelerated by the Ukraine war, too. I don't think Trump would have let Russia do as they pleased. Neither do I think that Putin wouldn't have attacked if Trump was in office. In my opinion Russia f*d up big time in this war. They lost a lot of people, a lot other people left the country, they lost a lot of material and now seem to need the help of countries like Iran and North Korea. Currently I'm mostly gambling in crypto meme coins and have my bags from much lower. Edit: A Trump win will probably lead to a crypto pump to the end of the year. I wouldn't surprised if we see a "sell the news" event first but I think the huge inflows in the Blackrock Bitcoin ETFs lately happened for a reason.
