What a lovely walk out with your cattle. I've been there. Done that. All herds have a friendly animal or two. Her history might go back to her being hand fed as a calf. I remember a few like that. I used to go into the barn last thing at night, just to check on things. One cow would always find me. I would never see her coming,. But I would feel a gentle push from behind. It wasn't vicious, it was more of gentle reminder that she was there.

The cow following you like a doggie has a half moon/lunary symbol on her head! Pretty! Crazy how you guys are getting a ton of rain, that can't be good for the grass/sileage on your neighbors field, but east coast US we're almost still in drought., reservoirs are low etc. For the trees, can you plant a variety of maple? They tend to grow pretty sturdy. We do have a huge oak in our yard and we get sapsuckers on, but they dont nest in them often. Ours usually hangs out in a dead tree nearby and hunts on the oak. You do technically count as your cows' father 😂 You have a wonderful sense of humor! Because of the timing difference, i typically stop and watch your videos while i'm eating breakfast/tea. I like your style of "quiet, normal" farming.

🤔Richard wouldn’t it be marvellous to live like a king with no legal obligation to pay tax. 😂😂
@DANFORTHPAPE12 күн бұрын
Everybody can avoid inheritance tax. And to give you another sarcastic comment: wouldn’t it be marvellous to be able to have a farm without either having to pay a penny for rent or having to pay off a colossal mortgage so that having your own farm would be as easy as it is for other people to have their own business? Imagine it being even better and for the supermarkets to pay you a decent price for what you produce so that you are actually financially viable in the long term? 😅😅oh gosh I’m so funny aren’t I? To be even funnier: imagine if anyone actually gave a damn and had a real understanding of farmer’s financial difficulties? That really would be amazing

Back in the day when I worked for an agricultural company in Monmouth one farmer we supplied had three quads stolen all chained to a concrete floor,one with a loader machine bucket tipped over top of it! It was still stolen!,if they want them they will take them! I remember one farmer on returning home one evening was passed by his own quad coming the opposite direction in the lane!

i think some dairy farmers are missing a trick though with autumn grazing.......autumn grass doesn't have as much goodness in it but the litres you do get from it have cost you next to nothing to produce.......we got a neighbour that says oh i don't let my cows out to graze after the 1st of october cos the quality of the grass isn't as good but the extra silage and maize he has to feed them to get the milk has cost him a lot of money to grow and make so i'm not so sure he's gaining much

Then "man calling you land owning elite . Probably thinks A white tractor is a Lamborghini . A red one is made by Ferrari . A blue one is made from Bugatti . So I would not worry yourself mate . I live in Devon richard , a family of four arrived from London They though sheep where walking clouds Cows - no idea . Horses just looked pretty. Imagine the look on my face when I explained where their milk for their cornflakes came from how cornflakes are made . And you should’ve seen her face when I told them about their Sunday lamb joint … oh and left less than 24 hours later because… (brace yourself) it was to quiet … because the nearest village was 2 pubs a village hall and a shop in the post office in one corner that you could order bread from because the Family from next door also own a bakery which had no public area to order bread from the takeaway was fish and chips 30 miles the other way but Had no tescos , Dominos and was no nightclub … I think it’s was the pasty poaching on a Thursday morning but only between 6am and midday . There’s just no understanding some folk …
