CATIA V5 is set to be retired in 2030, meaning end of product support. 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA is the new version, or what old school people will call CATIA V6. But CATIA V5 will around for sometime in aerospace and auto companies, there are still some cases of CATIA V4 around. Usually that is tied to a large program, like a plane, that used that software.

Yeah! 3DEXPERIENCE is a cloud-based platform.

It's important to realize the 3DX platform has both web-based apps like xDesign and power apps like the ones discussed in this video. It's all cloud based though.

More the other way round. 3DEXPERIENCE is a 'business platform' that contains CATIA.

Hi there! Recently, I was thinking to move on to 3DExperience from CATIA V5R20 (because of the advertisements and seeing many others using it). Shall I go on with it? or continue with CATIAV 5R20?

@@mdasifrezwanshishir742 I would rather stay on V5R20, from what I've seen the features in 3DExp. are straight imported from CATIA, with the new interface. Also the new UI seem much less customizable, maybe easier for new users who need only basic functions, but I'm not a fan of clicking 3-4 times to navigate the toolbars and reach a command when now in V5 it's reachable in one click. Also (but this is more of a personal preference) all this cloud based approach gives in my opinion less control on your files, not a fan of a system where you work on the computer of someone else and you basically own nothing.
