Is the weather cool like in Da Lat rather than being like a sauna? How is Hoi An for retired foreigners (expats)?

The weather in Hoi An is the same as in Danang. Da Lat is located in the mountains, so it's cooler there. I'm not sure how Hoi An is for retired foreigners, but I've seen a few of them living there. Hoi An has more of a village lifestyle. But I can't not mention that during the fall, from about October to December, it's the rainy season, and many places can flood, especially near the river. So, if you decide to live there, it's better to ask locals which areas are not prone to flooding.
