Hey!! Thanks for posting your trip - did the airport make you show you weren’t a resident of the UAE? I’m doing the same soon and I’m being told the U.K. won’t let you in - is that correct?

Hi Ade thanks glad you enjoyed it. It's £1750 through the UK Gov website booking system. All the food I show in the diaries (breakfast lunch dinner) is included in the price and delivered to your door. The price also includes 2 mandatory self test kits for days 2 and 8, which are delivered to your door and collected after an hour. This was the hotel I got when booking and selected LHR as my destination airport. There are other hotels that you could be allocated, but I know of 2 the people in the last few weeks arriving at LHR who both also ended up at this hotel, so I think it is currently the main one for London. Staff, service and food were all excellent and I actually had a good time! Thanks Joe

This is a cute attempt by the government, but it’s incredibly flawed. The point of the red list is to stop/reduce the risk of people bringing in new variants, yet they allow you to connect in other countries and sit near someone on a flight coming into the country that will go home and probably not even quarantine 😂 at least you’re in decent hotel room and have a view 🤝 did you not consider travelling to the US or somewhere that’s not likely to be red listed for 10 days instead?

In which airlines did you fly? I wanted to know if there's direct flights from UAE to UK. I'm a student planning to travel in few days to London.

Hi unfortunately there are currently no direct flights at the moment. I flew Gulf Air via Bahrain (their national carrier), as Bahrain is one of the only countries in the region not yet added to the UK Red List. Check the UK Gov red list via Google and you should get all the info you need. Hope you get there safely and thanks for watching.
