I loved when pros teach us fundamentals, so few does this, most just do combos and show off. Hope you can teach us individual mix ups, assist usage and other neutral techs next.

I just got back into the game and I just wanted to say that your videos have helped me the most by far! I was having trouble with rejumps and your simple tip of wait right before they hit the wall made it so easy to learn, and also this video with super jump movement! I didn't even know that there was this kind of movement in this game, thank you so much for all you've been doing and I look forward to other things you release!
@McDoubleFunny4 жыл бұрын
Movement is super slept on advice for beginners in this game. I feel like its the hidden language of the pros that they dont share enough to up and comers. Even mid-level DBFZ players. It is super vital to learning the game, both offensively and defensively. Thank you for the video. I can't wait to share it to my friends trying to pick up the game. It is too bad superdash exists that kind of saturated the idea of learning movement when first picking up the game competitively.
@smuggles21244 жыл бұрын
Great video, do you think you could do a flip side of this video and explain how you could go about countering some of these movement options? Particularly super jump and float, I only ever hear about how good it is but never see anyone talk about counter play. It starts to feel that 90% of the answer to neutral is super jump back and have an anti air assist.

super dash and force them to take the block string and respond or open up. good w/ a bar of ki for vanish punishing a special or air move w/ telegraph startup
@NinjaGuyDan_4 жыл бұрын
If you use dash macro (6+HS) you can get the dash super jump instantly by inputting 1,9HS. Basically your character goes from standing still to jumping full screen, no startup

I think a bigger issue is that people tend to slow down a bit the second they lose the advantage in a match and they rarely get that momentum back. Myself included. It's a comfort zone thing and I think people need to practice playing quick (or aggressively) even in situations that seem unfavorable for them to move, because the moment youre conditioned into not moving, the opponent has even more options for you to deal with.

After the world tour Go1 made a video of some of the tech and strategies he practiced for the finals, and one of them was using the dash macro to perform an instant high-jump with dash install (without dashing). He was planning on using it against zoning, and he specifically mentioned how when Dekillsage saw the tech in tournament the second time he responded with a 2H and the third time with a jump L. He was very impressed with how quickly you adapted.

Thanks for the great material. Still I find it annoying that super jump gives so much compared to normal jump. It is very inconvenient to do it all the time, especially when using a joypad. I feel it goes against the general game direction to simplify things. Also why there is a convenient way to do iad in front direction, but not for backdash...

You have to make them block an attack which puts them into blockstun and brings them to the ground, but you won't have the frame advantage if you try this high off the ground, in that case you just have to position yourself well. Remember they always have to land

Ok this is a first piece of the movement puzzle for me. When I try that online, they ki blast me while I input 66 to start my dash jumping. The total input takes a long time for me. Other pieces of the puzzle are what to do when I super jump to fall on the opponent and how to counter someone who sj. I guess I could use an assist if I sj, but what if I only have 1 character left? And can I just SD at someone super jumping? They have to hold a direction, so I guess they are a bit more vulnerable, no?
@Polopollo754 жыл бұрын
I posted in some new challenger discord for help with my movement, but it seems that there isn't a good answer yet: Ok, I reached my ceiling. I need help. I need guidance on how to approach an enemy, and how to jump medium or jL or whatever. I do not understand how it works. I need a way to practice in training mode too. I am literally clueless and it starts to frustrate me to keep hearing "You will learn that by playing more". Here is an example of a game (I am Broly/Gogeta/Yamcha, yes I drop combos, but this is unimportant to me, I want to improve on how to approach the enemy and start hitting on them while they block. I feel I never have any opportinity to do any mixup, all my hit feels...random right now). Here is a game where I think the opponent tried to teach me something at the end kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZi4fGiJmryHrck&vq=hd1080 Here is another set against this player kzbin.info/www/bejne/apjGpIFqaKeEnaM Here is a 3rd one. Implementing new techniques requires you to accept losing while figuring out how to use it. Ultimately you have to determine how much you value being able to do the new thing, or if you even need it.
@Polopollo754 жыл бұрын
@@dekillsage Thanks. I actually love losing a lot, this game is a blast to play and watch! I am unsure yet about aerial options because it doesn't seem that I can punish if I sj like 27 and the opponent 669 jL and whiff for instance. Outside of super dash which I use very little as it doesn't always give me an advantage as I have to use a bar to vanish and it gimps my bar generation. Or the 6649 is good to escape in your example, but outside of that I am unsure how to use it yet. Maybe to call an assist right before crossing them up, but I would have to land pretty fast to confirm. Going from grounded (2D) to aerial (3D with sj) is very fun to explore, and hard to do in training mode. I toy with it in casual mode right now to see what it allows to do! thx!
@Polopollo754 жыл бұрын
You game versus LK here kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJ2TaKKOiNGGm68 you decide to sj that close to him with your Bgoku, double jump, and you land with a jM. That is maybe nothing in your eye, but first you decided to jump towards him, then you dj, which limits your ability to move after, and then you decided to jM. So much happening in my eyes! I use jumping to get away, rarely to attack outside of IAD. But here it is a lot more subtle. I feel gotenks could have pressed a button earlier some and maybe punish you. Or SD at one point maybe?
