For the mirror, if you use newspaper instead of a cloth to wipe the windex off, it won't leave streaks. Just remember to change the newspaper once it gets a bit soggy or else it will leave particles behind. My mom taught me this trick and it works really well 😊

This is a good tip. Many name-brand paper towels have softener that make streaks on your mirror. Cheap paper towels also work.

Hiya Christina! Your new place looks great! Tip for the bars in the cupboard ... put an elastic band around the box, it should stop bars from coming out when you grab one.

My husband is a window washer! To avoid streaks: after cleaning the mirror/window, use a dry towel to buff it dry. Work the dry towel in circles until all the moisture is gone, and voila! No streaks! ✨

One organization tip I can recommend for tall cabinets is shelf stackers. I picked up a few so I could separate large and small plates but still use all the vertical space offered. It’s great in a pantry too! Enjoy the new place!

Newspaper will give you a streak free clean on the mirror. Also, as a renter who has moved 4 times in the last 2 years, I am super envious of how easy you made this look😅but super happy for you and can't wait to see how you make the place your own. And how good is moving-in floor pizza!

For mirrors, windows, and glass, I use the Glass and Polishing Cloth from E-Cloth! It requires no chemicals at all, just water and it always leaves everything streak free. Idk what magic it is but it's awesome. Love all their products.

Wipe mirrors and glasses with newspaper. No streaks. You can also just use a vinegar/water solution for it 50:50.

the trick to not getting streaks on your mirror/glass windows is using NEWSPAPER instead of paper towels!! I learned this trick from a restaurant I used to work at and it's never failed me

For cleaning mirrors and windows without streaks, use a spray bottle with a water vinegar mixture, and newspaper. Not kidding, the vinegar takes care of the streaks and newsprint doesn’t mean Lint. For a more expensive than less sustainable solution, get a high alcohol windshield spray from an auto store, for detailing, and a microfiber cloth.

When I worked in a restaurant and had to clean glass doors, I was taught to use glass cleaner and newspaper to wipe down the glass. Always came out streak-free!

Yay🎉 finally in. Enjoy your new home. Tip for windows/mirrors : wet fingers with cold water and flick at mirror, then wipe with a kitchen roll. The more chemicals you put on the harder it is to get a smear free mirror. You can get special window cloth sets - 1 is a white waffle cloth that you wet, 2 is a silky cloth that buffs the surface to leave streak free with no chemicals.

Regarding the mirror you could dust it first with a cloth, no products. Then use glass cleaner and wipe with scrunched up parcel/news paper (like a soft paper so no scratches)

Happy new home! Love all the sunlight. A DIY glass cleaner I've used for years - 1 cup rubbing alcohol, 1/4 cup ammonia, 1/2 tsp Dawn dish detergent, 22 ounces of water. Spray the cleaner on your cloth, not on the glass.

The only way that I found to prevent mirror streaking is to buy a Karcher Window Vac and use that instead. It works wonders on windows, mirrors and walking shower glass

I love those for refilling my dish soap, laundry detergent, hand soap, body wash, and other cleaning supplies! Less toxic and reduces your plastic, highly recommend if there’s one nearby!

For glass, chrome, etc. get Norwex Envirocloths. A serious game changer! One wet cloth, one dry cloth, no chemicals, the cloths have antibacterial properties in them, NO STREAKS! I don’t sell it, just a fan.

There are special microfiber cloths for cleaning glass and mirrors. I use a wet one for removing the dirt and a dry one for streak free drying. Better than anything I've ever tried before!

For mirror streaks, I use Windex brand glass cleaner, any off brands just never work and always leave streaks. I also just use a regular paper towel. Yay for new homes!

You need one cloth to clean the mirror with the windex. Then a dry cotton cloth to “dry” the windex and wipe up any dirt.

What the others said about cleaning the mirror - use paper. If you don't have a newspaper, kitchen roll (paper towel) will do, or even toilet paper. Also, if you put vinegar in the washing water, and just the tiniest amount of washing up liquid (dish soap).

For the mirror, stop using mirror or glass cleaner and just use dishwashing soap in a low concentration. Also don't use paper towels but two micro fibre cloths, one for cleaning and one for drying :)

Congrats on the move and thanks for all you tips. As a chef, I recommend you get knife guards if you plan to keep your knives in the drawer. If they rub against each other you'll get nicks and also dull the cutting surface. That's called "losing your edge" and of course you don't want that! Have fun in your new place! I lived in Toronto for four years and still miss it!

I just wipe down a mirror with cleaner, and then before drying wipe it down with just water to get the cleaner off, and then a microfibre cloth. never had streaks and i reuse the microfibre cloth for moths til i need to clean windows, then it goes in the wash.

Moving is rough. We had boxes stacked to the ceiling. It took for ever for us to get it all put away. I want a little bigger place. But I don’t want to move again. It’s nice to have a washer in your apartment. I’m not sure what I would do if I didn’t have one. We had to live like pioneers, when we first moved to our house. No power or water. Now that I’m used to it. I freak out when the power goes out. It’s usually some tree that takes down the power lines.I love the new apartment. I like the kitchen tiles. The color is great. You will be settled in no time.

Streams on the mirror after cleaning are often caused by having used too much products on the mirror for a long time. In this case one should clean it only with water (maybe with a little alcohol added) and dry it with a clean towel afterwards. I stopped buying special cleaning products for mirrors as they often do more harm than good😅

A TINY bit of dish detergent in lots of water… wipe the mirror with a microfiber rag/soap mix.. then squeegee off. Spotless. We have a window cleaner who does all the house windows in and out. I had a big floor mirror that I could never get done without streaking. He showed me this and I threw out all the dumb window “cleaners”.. a joke and waste of time. Enjoy your channel very much!
