The laundry in my apartment is in a different building and it’s a pain to bring the detergent and everything back and fourth. I make little baggies with a pod, scent beads and a dryer sheet and bring one every time I go to do laundry. Not that you’d have to do anything like that, but the pods definitely are more convenient.

Interesting video. In my many many moves, we always set up the beds than put away kitchen stuff first. Once kitchen is organized the rest of the home seems easy!

Get a utilty cart and put your laundry supplies on and you can push it back and forth

Foyer cabinet and a mirror in the hallway between bathroom and bedroom. You can store laundry stuff and it will look great!

Hi ,Olivia I leave in a apartment like yours and yes it’s annoying with having no place to put the detergent but wanna share what my husband and I did but we got a shelf very small just to fit the amount of detergent to storage we put it like on that wall hanged up the wall that is coming towards your room and next to the washer machines like you can put it up where you and Marshall will not hit yourself I don’t know if I’m explaining myself and is not big very small and with doors which I see it It works perfectly fine! Just sharing! And God bless loved the new apartment!🍾🥂

If you have powder detergent, detergent pods, or soap nuts you can get a magnetic little bin and put it on the washer. Get another to store dryer balls

I just had a thought about your wire shelf situation. A crafter on FB used foam core board & wood-grain shelf liner from the DT to cover hers. I can't upload a picture, but it looks pretty real.

Moving is so hard, we have always done it ourselves and it is exhausting so can fully sympathise! For your laundry you could get an Ecoegg as they have little holders that stick to the front of your machine and they are an alternative to bulky detergents. They clean great - we still use fabric softner but not for every wash, saves a lot of room and hassle. Enjoy your new home!

Love the new apartment enjoyed the video of your moving in... thought about the laundry storage problem and have an idea... how about a shelf or thin cupboard on the wall outside your bedroom door I’m thinking quite high so as not to get in the way or cause a head injury... but still be able to grab daily used laundry items...

Hey Olivia, what about some sort of small roll-away type cart for your laundry area issue. You can use the top for folding, and the bottom for storing your detergent, fabric softener etc... When the laundry is done, just push it into your bedroom closet or something. Looks like you have quite a bit of space in there.

I feel you on the bedspread but ours isn't white. It's super pale silver - close enough to white to make me happy but not white so it keeps the "dirt" at bay. lol If it were me - I'd put up a couple of the Ikea shelves intended for pictures or something similar on the wall right above where the laundry hamper was sitting while you switched the loads over. You could put smaller containers on the shelves and fill from the big ones as needed. I have a huge rubbermaid container of the powdered laundry detergent but it sits under the laundry tub & I use a repurposed Kraft peanut butter jar for the daily detergent use. Heather xo

My mom and I have moved 4 times, so I understand the exhaustion you two are under! It’s no fun until everything is unpacked and in its place haha. For your laundry situation, depending on how much hallway space you have in that area, maybe you can get a skinny entry-like table (like the one you had in your old apartment) and store your laundry essentials on it in bins with lids?! That way, they’ll be stored away with easy access and you can decorate the table!! 🧺🥳

Put your laundry detergents and softener etc in pretty glass jars and place on a farmhouse style slim bookcase type cabinet outside your bedroom door. Instead of trying to hide it - make it part of your decor.
