I like sad music what can I say. There are those times that the music just 'fits'. In this video I feel like the music is perfect for this video. It adds a sense of drama and emotional tone to the video. For me this is what I like most. It's sometimes a shame I can't make my old, just music and ants, videos anymore. I still love them so much. To my opinion ants are very special creatures and deserve special attention. My name is not Esthetic for nothing. Aesthetic means the beauty of nature and I think ants fall into that categorie. My goal will always be to show case the ants not as pets, but as amazing organisms who live on this Planet. We as ant youtubers have the obligation to spread more awareness about these creatures. Get people to like and love them and show the world have beautiful and passionate ant keeping can be. I almost feel that now I'm making videos ant keeping is becoming an artform. I hear you thinking 'EA what did you have in your coffee this morning'. Let me know what your opinion is on this matter.

there's larvae in the wakooshi nest in the vid actually :) and I think they did have atleast some brood during the time, because their workers have a very short time span do you have some Ant/beetle gelatin? Since they aren't usually interested in sugars also LOL I have the same oven

I've had some ants have trouble laying (or they were just hiding the brood). So I then started heating the room they were in (with an electric heater) more since they're a heat loving species. And I gave them and external water-source. A few days later I spotted some eggs/larvae. It might be a small thing like that. So I suggest you ask someone very experienced in keeping them.

Honingdauw en proteïne bronnen(fruitvliegen en stukjes van meelwormen) zijn prima voor pheidole. Ook levende fruitvliegen aanbieden is handig. Ze moeten ook kunnen jagen aangezien het een agressieve soort is.

I know I’m late but currently I have pheidole colony witch I believe to be pheidole dentata, they have about 12 workers with a good amount of brood for the colony’s size and are currently moving into a new test-tube since their original one ran mostly dry, I’m also debating about trying to find or buy another queen of the species as I heard pheidole colonies willl gladly accept more queens of the same species. Also in the future when the colony is big enough (20-50 workers and majors) I’m planning on moving them into one of your small sized ant nests featured at 1:33 I bought from one of your resellers since I don’t live in Europe. I wish the best of luck to your and my pheidole colony(s)!

Hey man, some suggestions by me: 1. You said the test tube was taken from your Camponotus nicobarensis colony. Have you cleaned it thoroughly? All the pheromones released by the Nicos could disturb your Pheidole colony. 2. I didn’t see any cover for the test tubes. Might be because of the filming but make sure they are protected from the light. Red foil might not be enough since some colonies can still see red light. Better to use something like aluminium foil or dark paper. 3. Have you tried swapping the carbohydrate and protein source? Different species like different food. Try honey/ sugar water instead of your premade syrup. Also try if they prefer other insects to the fruit flies you give them. Finally, where did you purchase the outworld? All the best!
@EstheticAnts3 жыл бұрын
1. Never thought about that, I cleaned it good tho. 2. I wasn't planning on putting on a cover since a lot of people say that it does not matter if you keep them dark or light. Don't know if that true. 3. I tried morio worms, they were not into that, i tried honey and they also did not like that. I'm gonna give them a liquid feeder soon and fill that up with sugar water to see if they like that. The outworld is shait I would not recommend it, it's a cheap one from China.
@platformsixteen31663 жыл бұрын
@@EstheticAnts I have the same issue with morioworms... I always thought they were just like bigger mealworms but all of my (founding) colonies paid no interest. I keep 5 species so I thought I would have at least some luck (myrmica, lasius, camponotus, pheidole and messor)
