MOVING ON, Part 1/2: Exploring Nostalgia | Sanders Sides

Can looking back on the past help or hinder us? For many people, that can be sort of a complicated question. And in this video, I struggle with moving on from a very important part of my past. Is this a dilemma that can be worked out with the Sides? Or are the workings of the heart just too enigmatic? Hope you enjoy!

Yeah, he's *so* talented! He's amazing at playing his characters, and all of them are so different from each other. He could probably make an episode without any video, and we would still be able to understand the story because they all sound so unique. Not only are their voices unique, but the words they use, and the ways they say them are very individual.

Rewatching the video I realized that the sides were putting some pressure on Patton to go to his room like he even tried to warn Thomas about how he isn't just happy feelings. He's morality, Patton is how Thomas looks at situations and how he feels about it, but he doesn't control feelings in general, he's just the receptor of what is happening. Like anxiety alerts him when Thomas is feeling anxious, scared, paranoid, etc. It makes my blood boil when they basically trampled over his Warning❕

I noticed something. In this video, after being in Patton's room for too long, Virgil can no longer speak well. It seems like Virgil may have the best hearing of the sides. He always flinches the most at loud noises and even snapped his fingers once or twice after an outburst from Logan as if to check if he'd gone deaf. But then the latter could probably be chalked up to dramatic effect and the former to being regularly on edge, and also he sits between Roman and Logan, who are decidedly the loudest...Whichever way, I find it fantastically entertaining. Also, poor Patton and Princey! Ach!

The reason Virgil has the best hearing is because he's literally anxiety. When you have anxiety, all your senses are heightened and you're a lot more freaked out by sudden, loud noises than if you had little or no anxiety.

'I'm all your emotions.' Patton said this right before everybody went off to his room, he was also trying to get them all to stay away from it saying that it was "messy". With that in mind Patton' s behaviour in his room to me at least looks like an attempt to cover up the other emotions he's already hiding. A good example of this is him constantly throwing memories at Thomas to make him feel better which is slowly not making him want to leave Patton's room, instead of face the uncomfortable present he's hiding in the past and Patton's doing this as his way of protecting Thomas. Patton maybe going about this in the worst way for some one who clearly needs to move on but I feel like Patton is used to denying any less than happy emotions, which can be supported by a few vines Thomas has made mainly the one with the cupboard label my problems bursts open while he's helping someone else, so when Logan is trying to move the situation clearly seeing that this isn't working Patton wants him to stop. He wants people to be happy even if it's detrimental to progression because and most don't like to admit this but sometimes we need to be sad to properly let things go so we can move forward. Also someone, Logan is my only hope at this point as he noticed Virgil wasn't doing so well, needs to help Virgil he looks like he's going to start having a panic attack and being in a room that stifles his influence is only making things worse.

I agree as They each live in a different version of time (though one is in a more of a grey area) Patton and Roman live in the past, Virgil (obviously) lives in the present, while (of course) Logan lives in the Future. *I'm not a prefessional Psychologist Don't take this as fact it's my own opinion and view on it* (Back to your regularly scheduled Rant/Talk) Patton trying to move on is trying to revert back to a state of happiness thru a dark time this happens leaving people sad and winding down to depression. It's bad to do this though nostalgia can help it can also hurt. I feel like Virgil and Patton are the one who's most sensitive to feelings (Negative feelings may lead to anxiety and negative thoughts so i think that relates to Virgil) So Logan is the first one to notice that maybe being in that room for too long is not good for Thomas and everyone else. Logan can't really understand and feel feeling so he is the first one to notice. I gotta say Roman's acting a little out of character. I love how in Patton’s room every time the camera goes back to Thomas, the picture frame in the background has a new nostalgic picture in it
