Congrats, from personal experience don’t see this as “waiting time” but more “preparation time”. Use the time to prepare for the surgeries by losing weight, improve health etc and this aids recovery. Sending love.

As a new physio graduate who spent two years as an assistant on an orthopaedic ward with post-op knee, hip and spinal patients, you’ve piqued both my LEGO and professional interests. Great that Anna isn’t forced to complete the stairs so frequently. However, stair climbing is brilliant for maintaining functional lower limb strength so it’s advisable to keep using the stairs as much as Anna can, given how young she is. Pre-operative strengthening around the knee is also advised for best total knee outcomes so maintaining that strength is important. All the best for your move and Anna’s operations!

Just went through the exact same thing, my landlord is selling up and so I had to move. Not moved far, from one side of the little town I live in to the other. It’s handy as I am right by a Wetherspoons and an Asda!!!! Also had to move from a first floor flat with a garage to a one bedroom house with a loft. Had to get rid of loads of stuff. But, best of luck to you both in your new abode!!!

Hi kevin chapman if you can do a tour off the new house and we can see whats yours means off set up are and hows things work for your lego room gives us more idea also think smaller than bigger and thinks levels you need too have storsge space but at the same time access too places dont get bogged down with shelves extra because its just not gonna work out long term your lego city looks ace well done keep up the good work and send pur love too anna too good luck for future, kevin you may have to care for anna and i dont just mean tap on the head dont be kebin be caring kevin.

There is always a compromise somewhere along the line when moving house in my experience. So a slightly smaller Lego room even though part of your business is not a big burden to bare. Sounds like you fallen on your feet.

As much as its stressful, sounds like its all worked out oerfectly for wveryone and will hopefully ease Anna's pain. Just a thought, by my calculation from what you said there'd be about 10cm space on the shelves, could you not use the set you took on holiday to build the pool table city, to create buildings and give the shelf city some depth. They could be propped on boxes hidden by the modulars maybe

Three minutes down the road? Ha, we're moving 13 hours away in two weeks! I do get to have a big Lego room, and a modelling room. The Lego moving logistics is fairly straightforward, moving the 108 pets is the challenge! Horses, donkeys, sheep, ducks, cats and a pygmy goat. Plus various bits of farm equipment. I'm sure we'll look back one day and laugh. One day. Maybe.

If you want a train running in your new city, you would need at least 3 baseplates deep to make a 180° turn.

Only if I wanted to run a loop. I’ve made a video previously about using Pybricks to shuttle the train back and forth.

@@blockpartyuk I still think at least 3 baseplates would be better, if you can make it work out in the room. 60 cm is quickly filled: modular 32 studs, road 16 studs and rails 8 studs leaves you with 8 studs of your two baseplate depth, plus maybe 10 more to get to 60 cm.
