Keep it up man! I met my wife in Brazil back in 2016 on new year’s eve. I was there visiting some mutual friends. I've learned a lot of Portuguese and am conversationally fluent. I grew my vocabulary with duo lingo which helped me to have a basic understanding of what was being said. I listen to a lot of Brazilian music, mainly MPB & Bossa Nova and that has helped to train my ear. Then I keep going back to Brazil and just practice talking with everyone. My wife is from the state of Goias and I met her in Goiania. Ive been to Floripa several times and it's our goal to have a home there and retire there. We live in California right now and my wife got a job here with a major airline which affords us the opportunity to return to Brazil often. We enjoy your content and look forward to seeing more as you grow your channel. Parabens! Boa sorte!

Thanks man! I would love to have the opportunity to go back and forth more. That's what we are working towards at the moment. I am still practicing and studying portuguese daily and I don't think I will ever stop. I wish I could converse more but being back in the States I pretty much only speak English unless my wife and I make a point to speak at home.

@americaninbrasil Yeah, my wife and I speak a lot of Portuguese at home. When she moved here in 2018, she didn't speak English yet, and at the time, my "Portuguese" was better than her "English." She's very fluent in English now B we still speak Portuguese around my kids, which iss kind of funny because they're catching on an understanding a lot now. Is there a chance that either you or your wife could go to work for an airline? I was super impressed when my wife came home one day and told me she'd gotten a job with the airline! I was totally blown away. In Brazil she has a degree in IT and always worked in an office. Here, her first job was working at a daycare where the kids ended up learning as much Portuguese as she was learning English. When she started at the airline, she primarily worked ramp, and as her English improved, she became a counter and gate agent. At first, she was part-time, and that still afforded us travel benefits. She's working full-time now and we really benefit from her travel benefits. Depending on where you live, either of you could work for an airline doing customer service over the phone from home, and you can get the flight benefits that way too. What kind of work do you guys do?

Regarding what type of vehicle you are licensed to drive, Class A is semi trailer, Class C is a regular vehicle it must show on your license.

In Canada we have multiple types of driver license a G is the most common its your everyday car , truck and suv. DZ is semi trucks and M2 is motorcycle and so on that is what they probably meant what type of vehicle you drive.

The prices of electronics and other things in Brazil can be extremely high. Marcelo and I spent the month of January in western Brazil on the border of Paraguay in the city of Foz do Iguaçu. The city with the largest waterfall system in the world. It’s really worth a vacation visit! But Brazilians come from all over to that city to make border runs into the Paraguay city of Ciudad del Este for the shopping. I was told everything like electronics and other appliances, imports, etc are quite a bit less compared to Brazil.

Yes. Our builder told us to either bring faucets, shower valves and stove/oven from USA or go to Paraguay. he goes once a month. Border runs are very common for those that can afford it. Many businesses here in Goiania do it for merchandise to sell.

SUS (The Brazilian health care public system) is universal, It means everybody within Brazil is eligible for it no matter if you are a legal alien, a Brazilian citizen or an illegal immigrant, IT IS ALL FOR FREE, including the medicines they descript to you. Even ambulances are free. Private Health care only makes sense if you don´t wanna wait 2 or 3 months for a specialist doctor OR if you want to be treated in a posh hospital.

I drove in Santa Catarina and the motos and lombadas drove me crazy. The motos always swarmed me at stop signs and they pass on both sides of the car. I never could get up to a good speed in the city or county because there is a lombada every mile or so. However the people and the paradise make any negative a non issue. We hope to retire to Piçarras in the next 5 years.

They must be inquiring about the class of vehicle that your license authorizes you to operate. I live in California and my current license is a class C. When I was a firefighter I had a class B license that allowed me to operate firefighting apparatus. Your state’s license must have a similar classification somewhere on the actual license. If I was a commercial truck driver I would be required to have a class A license. Call your state’s DMV and ask them what type of license you have been issued, and where on the license that info can be found. Hopefully this helps.😊

@@fahlingfamily My builder renewed his license yesterday for the 10 year license now that he is "older". He told me there are 4 or 5 classes of license. What I have found is the following... Category A is motorcycle. Category B is normal cars and vans up to 8 passengers. Beyond that is Commercial trucks and tractor/trailers. In Washington State. If you only drove a car then you had a PDL. Personal driver’s license, also known as the regular drivers license. Class M. Motorcycle endorsement. Class A, B and C. Commercial driver licenses, CDLs. I would try an "Addendum" to your D.L. that states you carried a PDL that was equivalent to Category B for a passenger car.

Can anyone tell me how much it costs to buy a property...I mean the actual costs of closing the deal, transferring the title, registration of the property, etc.....aside from the cost of the property itself. Is there a set percentage of the property cost, or what? I'm wanting to buy a rural property that costs about 500,000 Br. or roughly $100,000 USD.
