I grew up in Burbank, BHS grad, I remember the Golden Mall, before SanFernando Bl. reopened. AMC cinemas parking lot is where the house I grew-up in on Cyprus used to be. Living in the northwest now, and I see it as one of the great accomplishments of my life to have escaped the Franchise Tax Board, Grey Davis, and now Awsome Newsom who is ten times worse. Small town feel? There are no small towns, it's all grown together there. Take a hint, don't try it untll you rent a few months; same for Tacoma.

Burbank is definitely a 1 of a kind living experience filled with great paying jobs as a bonus. Transportation overload makes getting to your destination of choice a breeze. Never mind the homeless encampment rumor because besides the police department Burbank is patrolled by the Russian and Arminian mafia 24/7 hence the extremely low crime rate.

We were on the cusp of picking a house out of four possible properties we had narrowed our search down to. But alas, the aforementioned COVID utterly upstaged our plans until further notice. @LivinginBurbank
@LivinginBurbank 11 ай бұрын
Hi Troy. Thank you for your comment and it sounds like I might need to clarify for you differences between Burbank and the surrounding areas. Burbank (population 105K in 2021) is located next to the city of Los Angeles, which is massive (over 3.8 million in 2021) and all those services you mentioned are shared/spread out amongst that city's residents. Also some unincorporated areas, which are also nearby within LA County do not have services dedicated specifically to their area/city. Having these services dedicated to just the residents of Burbank versus some of the other sets up nearby may be appealing to some people.

There are a few groups on Facebook like Gypsy housing where people offer short-term housing as well. Apartments.com & Trulia are other resources for rentals. Enjoy your time out here and your coursework! Take care and thank you for reaching out.

Is Burbank student friendly? I am a college student planning to move there, and is it very far from the main downtown LA?
@LivinginBurbank
@LivinginBurbank 2 жыл бұрын
Burbank is student friendly in that it has lots of public transportation and you can travel to DTLA by bus or metro train. It can be a bit of a commute though, so you would need to investigate that further. It will depend on the time of day you are traveling. By car, it can be as quick as 20 minutes, but an hour & half in traffic. There can be traffic at all times of the day here in the Burbank/LA. My recommendation would be to get a place close by school as long as you feel comfortable with the location. Check with the college housing department for more info.

it's middle of the road from my looking into it. Thing about California is depending on your skillset and ambition, you can make a crazy load of money working in California. In general, being a home-owner, family builder, career builder in the nicer burgs of So-Cal is not a sport for the faint of heart. My wife and I have done it but it took real blood sweat and tears, "making it" in So-Cal is a challenge. (We're Westridge Valencia, a golf community in the next valley over the hill from San Fernando Valley, so like 20 minutes from Burbank).

High crime, gang infested, run down streets, not safe after 7pm….if you rank all the cities in the valley…..burbank is at the lowest.
