We just moved here from TX. We're at N.Academy & Village Rd S. Nice area. Everything is in walking distance. We just have to get used to the weather & altitude. Everyone is so polite.

My thoughts about Colorado/Colorado Springs: Too much traffic here because of tourism. Lots of pot holes on the roads and lots of construction going on all of the time. It seems like a lot of people are moving here and the infrastructure is not able to support it anymore. There are also no good paying jobs for the most part since Colorado Springs did nothing to keep the high tech companies that were here when they were here and we do nothing to try and attract companies here who could bring in good paying jobs as they give all of the money to the olympic training center due to this place wanting to cater towards tourism only as a main source of income. Government jobs here that hire a lot of military people also require that you already have a high level security clearances. Lots of minimum wage jobs here that most donot want. cost of living here is very high and it keeps going up like everywhere else. rental property, property taxes, homes buying, home owners insurance, auto insurance or renting are high for what you get and apartments monthly rent is very high just like everywhere else. we have tornado's here, hail, flash flooding, cold weather and snow and the climate here is dry, not humid and we have fires here. we get a lot of wind in general since we are so close to the mountains. In 2023 The colorado Sun said that we hosted 93.3 million visitors in 2023. which explains the conditions of our roads. And guess what; since there is no tourism tax. The people that live in colorado pay for the wear and tear of the roads cause by those 93.3 million visitors in 2023 through taxes. A lot of bad drivers here since a lot of people come here from someone else and they have their own version of driving and a lot of road rage. A lot of road traffic delays during certains time of the day everyday. coloradosprings.gov/system/files/2024-10/2025pbudget-00-04-glanceprofile.pdf

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about Colorado Springs! You’ve definitely touched on some real concerns that a lot of people feel, especially with the rapid growth the city is experiencing. Traffic, construction, and the strain on infrastructure are definitely noticeable, and it’s frustrating when it feels like there isn’t enough being done to attract higher-paying jobs to balance the cost of living. I hear you on the challenges with government jobs and security clearances, too-it does make it tough for some to find work here. The dry climate, unpredictable weather, and the issues with road conditions are also things that come up a lot. It’s clear that tourism brings both benefits and downsides, especially when locals bear the brunt of the wear and tear. We always appreciate hearing perspectives like yours, because it highlights areas that need more attention for long-term growth and quality of life. Thanks again for watching and commenting-we’re always here to have these important conversations!
