I have been living in Dublin for 8 years now. This video is of course a selection of a few topics I had on top of my mind. I purposefully picked a few topics and did a surface level content otherwise I could be here for the day! If you are in the process of moving to Dublin and have no idea of what to consider for your move, this video should give you quick and simple insights.
There are so many things I can say about Dublin so if you are interested in the city and videos about living in Dublin, please do share in the comments and I can share more of my own knowledge of the city!
If you like the video, don't forget to comment, like and also subscribe!
Stay blessed :)

Hiya. Is €50,000 a decent salary to live in Dublin? Most of the apartments ive seen are around €1,700 PCM is that doable for someone getting the 50k salary?

hey! 50k salary is decent to live in Dublin but for renting on your own at 50k a year it can be challenging as crazy as it sounds. The best ratio is that your rent should not be more than 1/3 of your net monthly salary (which is not the case for many people unfortunately). Assuming you are contributing to pension at 2%, at 50k your monthly income would be a little over 3k so a rent around 1k would be ideal. if you are good with managing your money you can stretch it to 1.1k or 1.2k. Some studio apartments are around the 1k mark for rent but quite small. one of my friend just got a studio for 900 euros/month. I advise you to to go the PWC income calculator to have an idea of your monthly pay so you can plan ahead - download.pwc.com/ie/budget-2024/income-tax-calculator.html

If you earn 50K a year €1700 will take about half of your net salary. If you cook yourself and don't go out it would probably be ok....If you take out contracts with mobile phone, internet, TV etc watch out for the fine print as many operators will add a clause that allow them to increase your subscription yearly based on the consumer price index and inflation.

Why not Sweden or Norway? The same salary, better prices for housing, better weather, better infrastructure. Isn't it?

Good question, I got a job offer soon after I graduated in France and never looked back. Sweden and Norway seem to be great countries (I visited) but back then it was more logical to me to go either in the UK or in Ireland.

@@itsangeangelina well. I see. However why not the USA? Better salaries the same price for housing, better weather, the same need like a personal car etc..

@@user-zu1uc2pt7u I am not closing the door to moving to other countries but until I don't find a better work opportunity than the one I have here in Dublin, I am not in a rush😌 Europe would work better for me to be close to family but outside Europe would be a short term thing if I ever get the opportunity.
