Having the pleasure of working with Jaylenn Wong as our realtor was an exceptional experience. From the first time we were introduced to him through his KZbin content, we knew he was the right person for the job. Jaylenn was always available to answer any questions we had, no matter how small. He was incredibly knowledgeable and always acted in our best interests to ensure we got the best deal on our new home. Maybe the most honest realtor I’ve ever met. I find the a lot of southern and midwestern people have too much pride. We moved to KCMO at the start of 2021 from Hawaii and we love it! We had such similar experiences to what you shared in the video. All the pros especially! Our main cons are -the forever winter months , I mean in Hawaii we’ve got our sweaters out once it gets under 80 😅 -malls are not so great and kinda ugly, but so many small biz places outside of malls so that’s great -need more food diversity here! Like Asian foods especially! Hawaii’s restaurant and eatery variety is similar to Cali’s one where you can find good kbbq and sushi and ramen and Japanese curry all over but here there’s only a small selection, that we’ve found at least. This last reason is the only reason why we’re unsure of if we’ll be staying here for the long run. But other than that, so far we love living in KC!
@LivingInKansasCity-JaylennWong Жыл бұрын
Thanks for chipping in! You know what I noticed? Besides Oak Park down in OP, there are virtually no malls here, at least none that I would classify as malls. Everything is an outdoor mall. Cold AF in the winter and Hot AF in the summer. Spring? Fall? What is that? Things to do? Eat out or do things inside. There is no real crime unless you live inside the highway circle of death. When they talk about Kansas City area, they are talking about all of the nice surrounding suburbs. NEVER, NEVER consider living inside Kansas City, Missouri and DEFINITELY not Kansas City, Kansas! Two cities named Kansas City and inside each city limits suck! Tornadoes usually are a concern near the west side of the KC area, not the east side. A tornado might come near the city maybe once every few years, mostly a Kansas issue. For those of you who love life at home, you can buy a big house for cheap (relatively cheap since the housing market has gone through the roof). No crazy traffic like DC or Los Angeles. Awesome place to live if you work from home! In-n-out? Man has never been to Culver's!!!

@geekworthy7938, thanks for commenting! Few counter points: -I don't get your point about Spring and Fall? Yes, they are short seasons, but they are the nicest times here in Kansas City. These past years, Spring has been pretty long! -Things to do - this is where I disagree with you. We came from LA, where there is an endless list of things to do, but you could never get there because of traffic. Here, we have less thigns to do, but always accessible. Plus, they are building so many new attractions. -There IS crime outside the highway circle! The stats show as much. It is concentrated in the circle, but to say there is no crime in the suburbs is simply not true. -Never live in Kansas City MO or KS - I disagree with this one. I think that you can easily find places in both of those cities to live where you would have relatively low crime, good schools, and find yourself happy. -Tornadoes - the two that touched down in 2022 were both in Missouri. Oak Grove and Grandview. The ones in Kansas were farther away. Historically, you may be right though.

It depends on where in NY and NJ! I would imagine that if you're moving from a high crime area in NY, you can definitely find some areas here that would be very safe. However, there IS gun crime here for sure, especially in the inner city.

@LivingInKansasCity-JaylennWong27 күн бұрын
I mean that I don't think that your premise is right. It's easy to blame the "rich people," but I think that most people who are moving here are going to be any higher than middle class. Most are families who want a more affordable place to live.
@RJ-0127 күн бұрын
@@LivingInKansasCity-JaylennWong I understand, although they demand a higher wage because they came from an inflated city, if they were making 80k in Cali then they should be getting 60k in Kansas City. They aren’t getting 60k though because they demand more and some might being working remote from a company in an inflated city. Causes all of our prices to go up. We are all doing our best and that’s okay. Inflation won’t end so can’t be too worried.
