Very informative, thanks for the neighborhood guide. I just visited Chicago and spent pretty much the whole visit in the Lincoln Park and Lake View neighborhoods. Molly's Cupcakes, Bourgeois Pig Cafe and the Coletivo Coffee were good "locals-only" kind of spots

Which neighborhoods are considered "lakefront" does lakefront mean you are actually in front of the lake? When i look on google map it looks like the lake is cut off from the city by a freeway, can you actually walk across the freeway from anywhere to get to the side with the lake?

Yes Lake Front is all the buildings along Lake Shore Dr. Lake Shore DR is one of the main North/South streets in the city. There are access points along that go under the LSD in order for you to have direct access the the lake front path and Lake Michigan.

Publican is on Fulton and not in Lincoln Park. It’s West Loop.

How can anyone live in Chicago with all the gun violence, crime and record high property taxes is beyond me. I have heard so many stories of ordinary working people being priced out of their homes and having to move out of state because they couldn't afford the property taxes in Chicago, which are the highest in the country. You are a lot braver than I am.

I moved from Illinois (Chicago area) to Florida, we moved for the weather, but we were better of financially there is our line of work than here. Lost of people being pushed out of their homes here is central Florida too :( property insurance, car insurance, etc is crazy here.

That's actually not accurate. South Corridor is an area between Lincoln Park and Lakeview (mainly Lakeview) but I am not aware of a neighborhood named "Southport" . Atleast not here in Chicago.
