Downtown Naperville is the best among Chicago suburbs, hands down. I used to live in Elmhurst and considered Downtown Elmhurst to be top notch until I moved here. Downtown Arlington Heights is pretty decent as well.

What part of the city can you find some of the older homes built in the early 20th century that are still affordable? Like the ones you would find in Oak Park.

I sold a row house built in 1887 last year just to the West of the United Center. There are pockets throughout the West and Northwest side. Depends on what neighborhood and budget you are looking to invest in.
