Love him to pieces, but there are definitely those moments when I miss having my own space. And when I want to be alone or away from the world. Later in life you will have a family, you will never get this kind of privacy back.

One tip I would say to someone moving to a new state/ different area is always taking any opportunity to hang out with people. The year of the yes. Whenever someone asks you to do something/hang out even if it is something out of your comfort zone do it or even dating a typical "type" . I ended up doing aerial silk class, hammock yoga all type of things I would have never done because I was open and receptive to when people wanted to be my friend/ build a friendship . And social site like meetup and things of that nature . I would say just be more of extrovert than usual and put yourself out there .

You can volunteer with kids/teenagers help motivate them to finish school go to college be great, can sign up for dance classes, try being a bartender/waitress or learn another language

Hi Jayla, I love the vlogs, just be very careful w/ dating in NYC. I'm a native New Yorker and I work in public health and have studied epidemiology. Understand that NYC is a fab place to live and work, however, the STD prevalence and incidence rates are extremely high. People who may appear to be very healthy, may still be carrying HIV, Herpes, HPV, etc. My advice is to always go with the guy to get tested, before engaging in any sexual activity and always ensure that condoms are used as well. Stay Safe!

Just understand that no matter how hard things get you are truly blessed, not many people can graduate college then go straight into living the life of their dreams, and you are doing it! Though you are younger than me you are still one of my main sources of motivation. I recently enrolled in graduate school, and moved states in a foreign country by myself! I was so tempted to call it quits, and stay in my comfort zone but your videos were a constant reminder that the grind is all worth it! Keep doing your thing!

I used to dream of living in a big city but it's not in my budget at 23 so I'm living through you with these vlogs! I love them ❤️ I imagined being rich lol but I'm 23 making decent money and my 2 bedroom im moving into next month is fully renovated and looks amazing for only $575 a month in Indy. I see what your friend meant by it being expensive and with going to school because a few of my friends live in NY and their rent is so high for just a little box apartment. I'm so glad that you are able to afford a beautiful apartment and are able to explore your interests. I won't covet but I will be grateful for what I have and take some of your tips for my budget lol I have a boyfriend but not many friends so when I move to Indianapolis next month I'll be doing some exploring of my own and finding new interests outside of my business which can be exhausting! Patrisha LUXE it is not that bad honestly i lived here my whole life ... you may need roommates but i actually prefer it i am in a " gentrified " aka " expensive" area in a good neighborhood and pay under $800 living alone is expensive but you are usually out so much why pay for a box you never in?

Hey Jayla! Every first Saturday of the month Brooklyn Museum has this thing called Target First Saturdays where it's FREE from 5pm all the way until 11pm. They always have a full schedule of events from musical performances to indie films made by locals. It's an awesome way to meet new people and you get to dress up and get cute. I was there last weekend and it was a BLAST!

JAYLA there's alot of Paint and Sip Wine places in the city to meet people or go with friends, I'm going to one in Brooklyn next week. There's alot of art galleries, fashion show events, cool concert festivals in MetroTech Park in Brooklyn happening weekly until end of August, comedy night in the NYC, cooking classes at Sir La Table which is really popluar, Yoga classes or rock climbing, etc.

Jayla, you could even consider grocery shopping in either Brooklyn or Bronx or Queens. A lot of times prices are higher in manhattan. There's a lot of non-toll routes which don't make it that bad.

Something fun that you could try in NYC would be to take dance classes. I used to go to 'Broadway Dance Center' Loved it! I think you can also try thrift store shopping. Its really fun, and cost effective. One of the stores you must go to is ABC Home. This is a phenomenal store in the Union Square area. I can't even explain, its just something you have to see. ( It is a bit pricey though) But you can definitely find some bargains there on sale. There's also the Union Square outdoor market. The 'W' Hotel on Park Ave and Broadway is a very nice place to have drinks in the evening.
